Brugvalley

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Hi to All,

I never before have showed you our house in brugvalley.
Here I am and am happy. I mean the house and being in this house and writing to Daves.

This spring we will cut down the hedge next to street. I can plant much more brugs along the house.

Sorry for not posting a brugfoto öh picture...lol.

Lol, thank you for your words.

We have much slate in soil. Gloria, you dont need both of such stones, lol, let your brugs grow and you will become.

Shirley, you are right I am waiting for green.
Today a friend told me that a special dog, called Malamut is changing wintercoat to summercoat. These dogs would change their coat always 4 weeks before spring.Believing this we will have spring in midd March. I hope so.

My large Avalon (B.aurea) opened one flower in living room tonight, its smelling good in house.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Lucky you Ludger. I have three blooms on Maya almost ready to open. I can't wait for that smell to be drifting into my bedroom again.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm afraid we might have longer than that to wait for spring here, but I got my bubble insulation for the greenhouse today and I hope to get it installed this week. Then I'll test to see what kind of temps it will hold on cold nights. Just need to get my fingers in the dirt. Wish I had a bloomer in the house. It has been a long time since I have smelled brug fragrance.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Shirley, you'll have to let me know how that works for holding heat in.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It better work really well. I'd like to at least see the savings in heating costs pay for the plastic. It will have to help some, I'm sure. Monika uses it so it must be good. I'm not sure I have the exact same stuff she uses, but it has the big bubbles in it and is pretty clear. Will let you know in a while how it works.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Smile, I use bubble, too. Some weeks ago we have had a heavy frosty night and GH was not wrapped. The heating kept 39.2°F and at nights we wrapped the GH with bubble and after one hour it was 53.6°F.

Snow, one Brugflower in winter can make you happy like 100 in summer....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I would love to have a flower right now!! Ludger, your place is a dream. Very lovely, I wish I could vacation at a place like that. (or actually there:)

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

tiG, I'm trying to talk my family into a ticket to Germany for my birthday but so far it hasn't worked. :) Guess it will be the usual hand shovel or new flower pot. LOL

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

can I go in your luggage??? I want dirt for all my gift holidays:) throw in a bag of fertilizer and I'm ecstatic!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Snow, give the mailadress from your family to me.......

tiG, please come together with Snow to Brugvalley,we will have a large brugparty.

Hey, my DH asked me tonight what I wanted for Valentine's Day. I'm easy....I told him ten bags of potting soil from the local greenhouse. He said, "go get it and I'll pay for it". Beats a pound of candy or a dozen roses anytime. At least I'll get to use the soil until next fall. Maybe I should have told him that a vacation to Germany would be great.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

LOL! that's funny Shirley, I have to go get mine too! lol
Ludger, you and monika don't know what you'd be in for if the crazy bunch from this side descended on Germany.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It didn't work for me Shirley. When they asked what I wanted for my birthday and I said a plane ticket to Germany they just looked at each other, rolled their eyes and said they had a little smaller gift in mind. LOL
Hmmmm tiG, Fertilizer sounds like a winning gift. Thanks for the idea.
Ludger, Don't be surprised if we all show up someday. You just never know what the future will bring. :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Ten bags will only get me started. I think I bought about 20 last year. I'm going to get the cheap stuff from WallyWorld this year for those I put in the ground though.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Ludger your home is beautiful. So relaxing and peaceful looking.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Ludger, Lovely photos of your castle. Is it a traditional syle in Germany?
Lufthansa had a special air fare, they have just started service into Portland (across the river from vancouver), (direct flights from PDX TO GERMANY - WOW) so they were offering a fair of like 418 to germany, and 448 anywhere in Europe. A lot of us took advantage of this special and booked flights. We are going to Turkey in April, my sister to Italy, one friend to Germany, and another to Spain. You guys shoudl keep your eyes open for special deals like this. To the people on the East Coast, I have often seen fare in the 300's to Europe...
Ludger and Monika, would love to pop in and visit you guys, but unfortunately, I will only be in the Frankfurt airport....Next time maybe...

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

pebble, if you are established in turkey you are invited to visit me.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

Monika, Danke....It is much closer to come and go isnt it?
And you Monika, come visit us, we will be in a resort town, many German, Swiss and British people come there for holiday. My door is always open to you!

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Thanks for your invitation, pebble! Let me know, when you leave for Turkey and when you will be at Frankfurt Rhein/Main - Airport.
