Web site and search engine wandering can be dangerous for a person home sick from work. I was searching canna lilies, found the site to Karchesky Cannas based on a comment from another DG member, fell in love with a series of cannas - Zodiac. Alas, that led to further wandering and wandering (including Expedia to price plane tickets to Australia and New Zealand) - eventually back to Google, did a search on these Cannas - lo and behold, I arrived at the Plants Database, where Abutilon had posted about the VERY EXACT PRECISE thing I was searching on.

So, being fast fingered and slow witted, I sent Abutilon a note asking her if she got the plants through Karchesky Cannas or someone else. Oops, then, of course, I decide - Ohhhhh, a DG member, let me go check and see what she has to say.

Yep, she and her partner own Karchesky Cannas.

Small world. And, Dave has well positioned the Plant Database in Google.

Guess I'll start counting my pennies! Alice - thanks for the laugh of the day! :-))

err, does anyone else just have wandering bouts throughout the internet in search of a new something and circle back to where they started?

I kind of just had the same type of wandering around the net this week.
You know the thread I started a few weeks ago about the high cost of shipping at Plants Delight? Well, I really wanted one of the Lobelia siphilitica "Alba". So I went on a search of all of the sites of plants and seed companies and couldn't find it, except for a place in Canada, and that wouldn't work. I finally searced for it at Google...went through several sites, but they just had information on the plant. Then low and behold there was a site for seed trading from our very own Emmy here on DG. I had never come across her on here and so I just emailed her and she emailed me back. Come to find out she lives in the Netherlands and has one heck of a beautiful trade list...woo hoo did I have fun looking at her stuff. I ended up sending her a SASE for 6 types of seeds and can't wait to get them now. I am truly a Happy Camper!!!

So I know what you mean by searching and you shall seek....but to end up back here at DG is fantastic. This site is wonderful, and I thank him everyday for all his great work and time.
