This cultivar is supposed to be the best for staying purple through the season, and not turning purple-green. My Botany teacher cringes at the mere mention of Berberis (a real problem for farmers in many states). So what do I do? I buy 3 from a nursery in Washington for an ARM and a LEG. No such thing as too much when it comes to special claims. Well thankfully the claim is correct and the coloration is stupendous. A good plant to use with any number of different colors. Yellow, pink, blue, red. Almost any color goes. Highly recommended!http://www.grovestreet.com/jsp/onepic.jsp?id=129099
