L'Amour Pollen

My Species is putting on Buds like crazy and I'd love to have some L'Amour pollen to pollinate some of the flowers....anyone have any pollen they like to give to a good cause....me!!!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Glory, last time i saw my species it has buds on it also. hope you find some lamour pollen.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Sorry Glory, If I had some I'd be happy to send it but I don't have L'Amour. Sure hope you get some though. Sounds like it would be a great cross.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

i'm wanting a carrot orange double myself, don't know what kind of pollen that would take. guess i'd better see if my buds have hung on, then see what's in the seed bank.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

oh Glory....if I had some I would share! I can just imagine that cross........... be still my heart. I sure hope you get some fast!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Ditto, I wish I had some to share too. That will be a great cross! I hope you get some and have lots of pretty babies.

Glory, I'll have some in a few months, L'Amour is just putting out buds now.

Jeanne,
You are too kind....my problem is I have better luck with pollinating when the weather is cool....maybe I can freeze it and keep it for next fall? I'll take it!!! LMK when you have it so I can send some postage. Thanks

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

I gave all I had to Tig last fall, maybe she still has some. It was a pretty good batch.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

sorry Gloria, I used all of it. Wish I had some for you.

Thanks everyone....I'll just wait till Jeanne can come up with some pollen....till then I'll keep pollinating with what I have.

Kell,
I'm going to keep trying to get you that double/triple Pink Brug...hell or high water. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

oh Glory............... then you would be my BEST pink friend ever! LOL

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yeh, Queen of dbl/triple pinks? Move over tiG!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Good Morning Miss Gloria!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I would gladly move over if someone can do it:) Hoping Eric's cdw x butterfly will prove to be a double! or one of the cdw x c. pink seedlings I have.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

tig, i hope the cdw X bf does it also, since i already having a nice sized plant from the cuttings.

Sorry, Glory, frost took L`Amour.

tiG and Arlene I cross my fingers it will be a colored dbl.

Arlene, I carrot-orange dbl. That would be a dream to see such one. I will work for a dbl. this year, but use EP shape instead of the more common x candida shapes. A red or dark pink would be nice, but any color and even a white dbl. with EP shape will be nice. Well, good as basic breeder plants thoug.

Tonny, will your lamour grow back from frost? i hope so. my species was lighty frosted, leaves fell off and then started growing back. i dug it up, put in a pot and protected since then and it made a Y and i have 2 buds on it. i really like the species and the enchanted double white. i want the carrot orange doubles that will grow well and bloom a lot, the bright yellow, peach, red....lol....

Arlene, I am glad that your species came back again. We had to carry L`Amour out of the wintergarden together with 30 other Brugs. All had become soft down to the roots. We could not save them. I hope you can find the right pollen for the two coming buds. Would the first two be pollinated for red or peach or does these first come later *lol*

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Tonny, how sad! you have mail.

Tonny,
Did you have heater problems in you Winter House? That is so sad you lost so many.
I'll keep using E.Pink to pollinated Species until L'Amour arrives from Jeanne.
If all these seed pods mature I'll need another greenhouse just to grow the new seeds. LOL

Thanks for ytour encouraging mail, Arlene. Hugs!

Glory, they got frost before the winterhouse was finished. I had to put them in the garage and it wasn`t isolated agains cold. Many plants appeared to make it, but softned more and more as time went. We had to turn down the heat to 5-10*C in a short period in December/January, but now we have 10*C at the floor and 22 *C close to the cieling and I think it will be warm enough. It sounds like a wonderful cross to make and I hope you get real good seedlings from these pods. L`Amour x species and L`Amour x EP also sounds like wonderful crosses and I wonder if there will not be at least a dusin dark pink in these batches. Yes, *lol* To have room for them is always the big problem *lol* Maybe when the day come where we know our breeder plants as good as Monika do, we can aim for one or two crosses à year and get a few good ones, but until then it will do making lots of different crosses. Both to get a few nice ones, but also to get to know the plants better, so we can predict how they will behave if crossed to this or that :)

Kell,
Where are you tonight????? Oh it's only 7:15 your time...I'm sure I'll catch you later.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Did you miss me Glory? I have been emailing dream lists of euro brugs....LOL. We were looking at German sites and picking the ones we just have to have! A fun pastime for those of us that need excitement in our lives! LOL
In the end, I end up with practically every one there is!
I am such a pink pig!

What can I do for you?

Nothing....I was just wonder where you were. I was really wondering what kind of trouble you were getting into. It's getting cold here and Ron's already sleeping so I guess it's Slingo tonight. LOL

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I sent you some pretty pics to entertain you on slingo night!

Kell,
I just saw your pictures....very,very nice ones. When you get them can I be first in line for cuttings....Please!!!

Dripping Springs, TX

You guys are funny. Is this "good" English??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sure Glory............ you will be first to share........ in my dreams............LOL for that is the only place I will have them but at least there they will be perfectly grown.

Look who showed up! Hi DR!

Gloria are you having a slingo night also?

Dripping Springs, TX

Is that something to do with a thong?

DR,
Slingo is a game on AOL....keeps us old folks on our toes.

PJ,
Is it cold up in your neck of the wood?

Dripping Springs, TX

Glory--I have the generic isp--- You and Kell have that ritzy isp--games and all..lol

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Brrrrr!! Yep, 23 tonight, they say it may be down to 7 tomorrow night. I am pretty worried about my little temp brug house. Even with the addition of a Coleman Propane heater, with my regular heater I can only maintain 10-15 degrees above the outside temp. So tomorrow night will tell the story - I may be brugless by Friday. Not worried about the big ones - but I have a LOT of babies freshly potted up. Keeping all my fingers & toes crossed!

Dripping Springs, TX

Azalea--Yikes! 7 degrees! That one reason I left up north. I wish you warm thoughts for you and your brugs.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks DR - I don't really consider Atlanta up North, we are in 7b. It won't last long, but can do alot of damage with only one night. They say with the windchill it may be zero!! They are wrong so many times, I hope this is one of those times!!

I do remember a few years back when Flurries were predicted and we got 9 inches of "flurries" in March!! "Flurries" are predicted tonight! But here it is 12:30 and it's only 40!!! The gh temp is 48. Go figure!

OMG - I just heard on the news that our windchill temps may drop from 0 to -10!! I'm sunk!

It was 85 here two days ago. It might freeze tonight and tommorrow night. Do you have any Christmas lights you can wrap around your brugs? I wrap everything in white lights and cover up with 2 layers of row cover.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Oh - a miracle just happened - dh just suggested that we bring them in the house tomorrow!!! I know it will be a shock and a mess, but will take him up on his offer for sure! got to get to bed - lots of work to do in the am!! The high tomorrow is to be 25 - yuk!
