My snowbank has been slow too but it's doing okay. I just figured it had the winter blahs. I hope it will perk up in the spring.
Midwest Trade Show
Barb, I posted about mine about 4 pages back under "Roots".
No matter what I do with it the leaves keep curling on the edges and dropping off. It's only grown two new leaves since I got it.It was a gift from a friend and I don't want to lose it.
Snow, Snowbank dropped all leaves and never put any back on and has not grown roots or height.
Wow! 2 of them Barb?, hope you can get your $ back!
Eclipse, whatever your brug. turns out to be-it's just beautiful!! Got to go & try to find my socks-because when I saw this picture-it knocked them "plum" across the room. If,I can't find them, you owe me a cutting.
Colie
I found one blue sock & one green sock-so this doesn't count-guess you owe me a cutting :o)))
When I get my cutting-I will send you some socks, matching not guarantee.
DH did bring home the digital, so (after charging the batteries all day), I finally get to take a few pics! Ruth Ann, I got a suaveolens variegata last fall, too. Such a deal! It was the last one, and they had marked it down to .25. Yeah, a quarter! It will forever be nicknamed Two-bits. I don't usually name plants, but had to with this one. I took a leaf from it and put it on the edge of the Sunset pot. It is darker than Sunset. One of the many reasons that I wasn't ready for winter to come was that this plant finally had buds, that of course fell off when I brought the plant inside.
Barb, there are only 4 leaves left on mine and 3 of them are ready to fall off. What can be causing this?
Shirley, That's what mine is doing and if you leave them on they eventually fall off.
I have the variegated Suavoelens but not for long. None of my brugs growing in the ground have mites but that one does and has them badly. It was a pretty bush type but the flowers are not that special. I do adore P & C, it seems to love the cooler weather.
gee Brugie, that sure is a beauty! Too bad it is having problems. I wonder if it will be happier in the spring outside. That may really perk it up.
I just hope I can keep it alive until spring. Tracey gave me this one and I'd hate to lose it.
Terry have you sprayed yours for that fungus we talked about some time ago? I believe someone called it leaf drop. I think I'm going to spray mine just in case that could be the problem. I had that in the brugs in the basement and once sprayed a couple of times, they quit doing it.
Snow and Brugie,
I talked to Logee's about Snowbank. Tom indicated it might be not enough heat. I told him that I live in S. Mississippi and heat is not an issue. Then he suggested I use a mix with plenty of peat. ---Already doing that. He did contact the grower and he indicated that no growth regulators were used. It might help if anyone having difficulty with Snowbank also email him.
Barb, I have to agree with you that heat and soil isn't the problem. Mine is also in a peat mixture and I moved it to my sunprch which is plenty warm enough.I didn't get mine from Logees though.
Same here. I use ProMix and it has plenty of Peat. I had it on the heat mat, not directly, but it was getting some of the warmth and it was under a sun light. I've moved it to an East window now to see if it will do anything different. I will write to Logee's and see what kind of answer I get from them. Thanks Barb.
