Pink Jasmine....

Old Town (Gainesvill, FL(Zone 8a)

Does anyone have any experience rooting pink jasmine? I just clipped about 20 cuttings and I wasn't sure if they will work in water or if I need to put them in soil.

Katrina, I rooted some Maid of Orleans Jasmine in water. It took a long time, but did work. I wonder if they would hold the roots better if they were started in perlite with an inch or so of water in the bottom of the container. That seems to work well for me with hibiscus.

I use vermiculite to root all my jasmines. The green, non blooming stems make the best cuts. I leave my cuttings from 6 to 12 inches long. Dip in rooting hormone, stick in moist vermiculite and keep warm. Usually takes about 4 weeks to root.
