how to root shrimp plant

I received some beautiful cuttings of a shrimp plant today and need to know how to root them.I have not done so well in the past with rooting so I need all the help I can get.Thank you.

My mother rooted a few for me last year, and she dip it in root-tone and stick it the soil and keep it in the shade, and wait.
