Now I know this is not the best time here in VA to plant shrubs given the frosty conditions but it is going to warm up and I'm hoping the soil won't be frozen. My question is, if we do have a warm spell, followed by another bout of frost, would the hollies be OK if I planted them during the warmer days. My gut reaction would probably say no and wait till the Spring but I really want to get these into the ground and not spend the winter in the garage. They are in 3 gallon pots. Thanks.
Hollies for planting
Louisa - I'd think think they'd be better off in the ground than in pots for the winter. If the plants are strong and healthy they should come through it okay.
Thanks Poppysue. I think I'll go along with that especially as the temps for the whole week are going to drop like crazy. :-)
