4 O'clocks

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

How many seeds come in the pod of 4 o'clocks -- many or one?
I have a few and some are cracked and as I peeled off the hard coating - it revealed what I believe to be the actual seed inside. Is this making sense to anyone who has harvested 4 O'clocks? I don't want to peel off all the "hard coats" of these seeds, only to realize I made a mistake. But if there is only 1 seed per pod, then I would think that this hard coat would actually be a pod.

I can't seem to find any pictures of these pods or seeds -- not even on the site the Weez posted.

Check the database - http://plantsdatabase.com/go/92/ there are some seed pictures there. It doesn't sound like 4 o'clocks that you have......

Poppysue -- thanks for humoring me. :) I looked at the database several times - - but didn't notice the picture of seeds. :S --Now I know the answer. It was 4 o'clocks - but I was opening them up. Ooops! Guess I am still pretty "wet behind the ears."
