I want my Brug alley back. :(

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

I'll bet you do - snow is nice to look at from indoors but brugs are better. LOL

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

snowhermit, it is a shame....but you can look forward to next year's brug alley...

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

This is pretty to, but I agree brug's are better, that just makes me cold looking at it, I was just thinking about you today, I am glad you still have electric. The news was talking about people affected by this storm being out of power, some till Wed.
Thinking faster than my fingers!

At least when the brugs are out there you don't have to wear a coat and boots to enjoy them. I'm not looking forward to this situation at all.

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

Oh you poor thing! I so feel for you. I can't barely tolerate the cold. Add snow and ice and I'm over the edge. We're going down to 25 tonight. I finally got in the rest of the house plants.
Sending warm thoughts your way.
Kristi

Looks like Winterwonderland.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Just a couple of months ago. Sob!!!

Snow, go and sit in your GH and smell the brugs blooming there. You'll feel better.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

snow it is pretty like it is. brugcrazy is right, you have the greenhouse and a houseful of brugs, right?

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Snow, it's beautiful!! I love looking at snow(as long as it's someone else's or it melts in a day or two)We rarely get snow, I think it's beautiful. Can't you just hear the crunch crunch of your boots as you go out to feed the birds?

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Brugcrazy is right, go sit in your GH and smell the brugs. You have two worlds at your disposal. I still love the site of the first heavy snow. Fireplace going, trees are covered, no one driven or walked on it. It is so fresh and clean. But then your brug alley was gorgeous.

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Snow,
imagine that you never would have wintertime and all Brugs would flower each day a year....may be after some years having flowers each day you would walk and not take notice of your Brugs because they has been there for years.
Wintertime is time for looking forward for next spring.

Smile: I am each day in my GH to enjoy the last Brugflowers........
Wish you and all a good and very short wintertime.

Ludger, you are so right. But it would take a couple of years to get tired of them I think.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Will you look at that! Beautiful!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Cala you are right, smile, many years......

Liz, I did till yesterday, today it turned to brown.
Iīve pollinate this flower, hope she will set a "winterpod".
The sang I got from Tonny seams to have a darkred flower( still not open...) I very look forward to this flower, smile.
Will send a photo as soon as open.

Very pretty brug Ludger.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

Yes the GH is nice but I have it cool so they can go dormant or slow their growing. The only one that has blooms is Mountain Mist. I think it will be a pretty steady bloomer next summer.

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Post card pic. That is beautiful. Snowy places are nice to visit but I couldn't live there in it. I have lived in heat and humidity to long to change now.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Winterwonderland? Sigh! Its long long way to spring.......

Monika, we seldom get snow here and when we do it does look beautiful. Thankfully it only stays a few days. Winterwonderland is an expression everyone uses around here when it snows.

Monika, Have you had snow yet? I'm already eager for spring.Yes, it's going to be a long winter.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It is a pretty picture, just not something I'm ready to deal with yet in Iowa. Hope all is okay there now.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Jeanne, in german its Winterwunderland My sigh was for whats still ahead of me, probably lots of snow, and cold.
I cant stand snow, we get too much of it and it stays too long. Winter 95/96 began in November with frost below -15°C and over 75cm snow. It stayed that cold until April.
The last Rhodo in my garden began blooming in August, because the ground was frozen until June. In that year, my alley trees became very cold feet. When I digged the holes, the sun had to thaw the ground up before planting.

Monika, it's 12 C. here and has been raining for days and blowing but is just gray now. Most of the blooms got blown off my brugs still in the ground except for the sanguinea. Our Rhodos start blooming in February. You could come visit on that ship. LOL

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Can I come together with Monika please.....I will to carry her bags........lol
Monika please dontīt throw stones to me....I know you donīt like to use an aircraft. We will take the ferry.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Ludger, i think you should do an american brug tour. maybe when you get ready to leave, Monika and Tonny will come with you. just think what you can collect!!!!!!

Brugvalley, Germany(Zone 7b)

Arlene, I īm thinking about this. May be I will really visit the States next or overnext year.
To fly is cheap but the hotels......I have to save more money before I will visit.
GL

Ludger, if you make it to Canada I can find a bed for you. Please bring Monika with you.

Edited to add: The dogs will probably get in bed with you, I don't think you'll mind that.

Sleigh bells ring, are you listening
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight, we're happy tonight
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Gone away is the bluebird
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song as we go along
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

In the meadow we can build a snowman
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say are you married
We'll so no man,
But you can do the job when you're in town

Later on we'll conspire
As we dream by the fire
To face unafraid
The plans that we made
Walkin' in a winter wonderland

Kell, I sure hope Monika is on that ship. Wouldn't that be nice to have Monika and Ludger come and visit. Best they wait until Spring, because my garden is a mess. Bad windstorms have wreaked havoc out there.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

bring Tonny with you guys!!! and stop by and get Bruno and we'll have a big group meeting at Jeanne's house.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

You bet, I wont be waving with my hands but have to bend with my head overboard, LOL.

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

lolol i think that's what i would be doing also!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Monika, I'd be right there with you. I just let a trip of a lifetime go by because I couldn't see spending over a week on a ship with my head over the side.

You guys all get seasick. Oh dear. My Dad was a deep sea Captain, I've never been seasick in my life. I love ships.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Monika, I've been there too. Don't like that feeling. I don't like to fly either, but would if I had to. The train is a nice way to travel if time allows, but I don't think our Amtrak would make it to Germany. :-)

Chipley, FL(Zone 8a)

Have a bed here for you in Florida and I would feed you too. LOL, everyone else is voluteering a bed but no mention of eats. You would probably want to come south first before it gets too hot, then make the trek up north.
