New White Canna ..Help with a Name??

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

This new canna is one of my 2 year seedlings. I thought to call it 'Beloved'.

I asked my partner's opinion. He thinks another word should go with 'Beloved'..but what?
My daughter thinks 'Beloved' is not memorable enough ...)o;

So I am asking for opinions, other name suggestions, etc ..to help make up my mind to decide a name. lol

It's a really good canna. I want a fitting name for it (o:

Have to think about this some more. It certainly is a pretty one and should have the perfect name.

Oh this is gorgeous no matter what you call it. I like Beloved by itself.. boy I'd remember this one no matter what it's name is!

'Dearly Beloved'...what a GORGEOUS white canna, with that rosy color making it even more special. Where does the line form? Congratulations, John

Beloved Rhapsody
Beloved Tears
Beloved mystery

Or if you wanted to get away from Beloved, you could go with something like

Enchanting love.

That is what first came to mind when I saw this beautiful flower. and you could dedicate it to your partner. :-)
Please put me on your list when you are ready to release some! I would LOVE to have such a beautiful flower.

Just sent this off to my partner to look then over. He will be surprised! LOL
Thanks, everyone (o:

My heart stopped when this canna opened. My daughter tells me the 'pink' is a flower chimera.
We will probably grow it one more year to finish evaluation. But looks a good one (o:

I could not go out to the cannas and not be drawn to this one. As I am to my beloved.
Set apart from all the others. A bit romantic ..but where my name choice came ;-)

"Kate's Beloved"

Hi Brugie,
It will be 'Beloved' or 'My Beloved'.
Dave likes the 'My Beloved' name suggestion from you.

Maybe I should ask opinions re these two choices. LOL

This is the hardest we have been at naming anything )o:

Thanks to everyone for suggestions. All good ones.
I will be considering as we have other good cannas come up.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I think any of the names suggested would be good, but My Beloved was the first that came to my mind. I think whatever you two decide will be perfect.

Beloved Innocent

Hamilton, Canada

What a beautiful plant, such delicacy! The pink in the centre is certainly representative of a pure heart. But there is an innocence and freshness within.

This one is a WINNER!!

Saint Petersburg, FL(Zone 9b)

That sure is a pretty one. I didn't know they came in white I am alway looking in yards down here were there are a lot of tropicals and never seen a white one

Orlando, FL(Zone 9b)

What a gorgeous canna! The pink in the middle of the blooms is spectacular. This is not my mother's run-of-the-mill-red canna! I think I like My Beloved better for the variety name than just Beloved, though they're both good.

Hi Abutilon,

Will Beloved be exclusively vegetatively reproduced or will it produce true seed? Perhaps it is not possible to know yet.

Can you tell us or show us anything about its foliage? Any other details, such as height, length of bloomstem above foliage, bloom habit (including whether past blooms drop or cling to the stem), bloom period, likes, dislikes, favorite color, opinion about the situation in the Middle East ,what it thinks about The Bachelorette and Joe Millionaire?

New York City, NY(Zone 6b)

Beloved (Insert your daughter's name here).

Absolutely gorgeous.

Adam.

Dripping Springs, TX

Alice--when will you be selling this lovely "Beloved"?

Seymour, TN(Zone 6b)

Beloved Peace

Hamilton, Canada

Alice,
I keep coming back every now and again to look at this gem. Its a beauty.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Looks I missed some things here. My apologies.

PlanterRik ..
Since this canna is a hybrid, it can only be produced by clones to be same as the parent.
Foliage is blue green. Height is under 3 ft. Flowers sit nicely above the foliage crown for a pleasing appearance.
Blooms pretty much continuous all summer one established. Most of the spent flowers clean.

Don't know that 'Beloved' has opinions re the rest of your comments. LOL

If all goes well this year, it should be available for next year.
