MaVie, you are such a big help. Thank you for doing this and putting them in alphabetical order. There have been times that I have "brain freeze" like Brugie.

What a list. Great job MaVie. I'm going to bookmark this thread instead of printing it off. If there are changes, at least I'll see them here. Thanks so much.
u're welcome S. :)! unless i see more added to the brugmansia database will there be any changes. talking about having senior moments, i have to print a list for myself too ;).
and here I have been calling Butterfly BF. lol
I probably still will owen, old habits....
thanks MaVie!! you must have not worked hard enough packing!!
tiG, did u want me to change butterfly to what Owen suggested??? like i said i am open to suggestion/s. there is always time for everything :)!
it's not really up to me :) but I kindof think in syllables like that, BF. You've done a fantastic job!
This list is fabulous and in my humble opinion, worth its weight in gold! I'm printing AND bookmarking it! I always want it available and "at my fingertips"!
tiG - Since you started this thread, do you think it should be sent to Dave & incorporated into the F.A.Q.'s forum? It would help SO MANY Brug growers at ALL levels of experience. It's just a thought.
he won't move it will he??? we really need it more in this forum. (just my humble opinion)
I hope that it will remain in the Brug Forum, as well as, the F.A.Q. forum. Wish it could be copied & pasted, NOT cut! There must be a way to accomplish this, but I'm not a Database expert. The best person to answer that question would be Dave.
Looks like it's time to get the tiller out an open up some new ground! I'm really amazed at this list! I wonder if the nieghbor will notice if I get over too far ?say about 100 ft! Really nice job done here.
I've only kept 33 of the ones that are on this list. That is a long ways from the 45 or 50 that I had last year. Looks like I better get to work.
Thanks for making the list. Now all I have to do is copy it and keep it by the puter to know what you all are talking about.
Then I need to hire somebody with a bulldozer, I had no idea there were so many Brugs. Big problem for somebody that just have to have at least one of each.
oh man, I've got 53 of the ones above. and some that aren't there. need to make a list when I remember something that isn't on this list. We really should discourage the use of Jutner Orange, but should leave it on the list.
what's wrong with Jutner Orange?
I knew Tig would have to explain this!
It's a misnomer. It is really Charles Grimaldi. it's not a seperate cultivar.
MVR . . . you are the best. Great job.
I vote for BF for ButterFly.....would make it the same syllable procedure used for naming of CS for CreamSickle. Just another of my infamous not-so-humble opinions:)
Was there ever a list filnalized and put out??
Sure Tonny, do you want fries with that? LOL
I doubt we have half of them, I am working on a list of 357 or so named brugs. It would be hard to have a 'final' list, you might just print this page out, they are the most commonly used or talked about.
tiG,
I am shure you are doing a good yob!!!
((()))
Ludger
I"m going to print this one out and if the wife doesn't trash it I'll be Ok thanks guys great job
wow - what a list.....
Yes, please and a Coke, not beer tonight as I am driving home ... on the subway *lol* It was just when I saw all these abbreviations I came to think about once when I opened my favorite adventure game (no not thumbrider, but HocusPocus from apogee *lol*) in notepad instead of executing the exe file. All numbers and endless rows of squares. I thought that only a programmer would know what that all meant as only we in the Brug forum know, what these abbr. mean *lol*
You are doing a wonderful job there tiG.
LOL Tonny, I know, it looks like brugcode.
Thanks to you to MaVie and Snowhermit. You guys have really helped a lot. I know I couldn't have figured it out for myself in some cases. Thanks to both of you too as well as tiG.
thanks Tonny:) I hate when I open something in the wrong program! LOL!! right now I've been looking at so much html my eyes are crossed and sometimes it doesn't look like anything but squiggly lines:)
Bet I didn't help either, did I? Guess I should take a class on computers. Maybe I'd learn a little something and get my computer set up the way it should be. What I hate is when I get something that I don't have a program to open it with. I always think I might be missing out on something good.
When will you be ready to give classes on building a web site tiG? :-)
when I learn:)
did it show up right now??
Everything looks okay. Wrote Terry and she said it looked right on her computer monitor as well.
this is what Shirleys talking about. We're pretty proud of it. Minor flaws still left, but it's a great tool. http://www.brugmansias.org/galleryindex.html
Coupled with the brug database here, it really makes for a great resource and a good shopping list too:) lol!!
WOW! Don't you sleep? I have a couple of pics to help fill in a few blanks. You are GOOD!
LOL! sleep? well, my server was down for 24 hours and I didn't have anything to do! ;)
tiG, Please update me. I haven't been following this particular thread for a while.
I did use the link to the Brugmansia Growers International website. WOW! Not only are there a lot more gorgeous Brug pictures, but the site is filled with great information, helpful growing tips; the "Gallery Index", enables viewers the opportunity to feast their eyes from "A to Z", on ALL these magnificent Brugs.
You also mentioned increasing Brug sales, from not only D.G., but through B.G.I. However, doesn't one need to be a member before they may purchase seeds at B.G.I.?
What I had originally thought about was copying this thread and pasting it into the F.A.Q. forum, but did not persue it, since you didn't want it to be erased from the Brug forum, which I totally understand.
Now my thought is to perhaps have Dave provide a link from this thread to the Brug Gallery here. In that way, viewers will see the vast array of Brugs, which will benefit everyone, as well as, hopefully increase revenue. Do my thoughts make sense or am I totally in "left field"?
Shirley, BGI doesn't sell seeds or cuttings but if you are a member you can choose three different crosses (3pkts)every three months(quarterly) for a SASE.When the weather is warmer we are going to be having contests and surprise drawings for cuttings and seeds.
:) when I meant was it makes a great shopping list for anyone not knowing just which brug they want. I tell you, working with those wonderful pictures has had me drooling for days. I want them all!!!! There is great info here on the DG database on each cultivar, different things that we don't list in the BGI gallery, that's why they really go hand in hand. btw, there are a couple of good retail resources listed in our links.
