arlene, this looks like what I have, but I think mine might be Rosamond. is this not like yours? does it keep recurve all day? twice as big as most flowers?

Very pretty.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

mine looks like this all day

tiG....your's looks fabulous, whatever it is:)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

it's outstanding, the flowers are so big, across the yard this one is an eyecatcher. I don't care what it's called (well, I do for seedlings) it's a winner.

first bloom pics, see how much lower the calyx comes? usually in that long versi/candida type one split. i don't remember ever seeing green ribs at the top of the calyx, and the only time it really recurves is at night. never saw it totally recurve until Dee was here last time, rolled all the way up, just at night. it is never as recurved as yours during the day. i took measurements before but don't know where they are.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

look at this one, color is a bit off, but it shows more.

mine are 13 1/2 to 14" without the tendrils. newer flowers are smaller since it turned cool though.

Arlene and tiG,

Pink Beauty or not they are both just gorgeous!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Ditto, envious here! They are beautiful!!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

WLL and hibiscus, do they look the same to you?

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Double WOW!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Not really, but could be the cameras.

Arlene's seem to have longer tendrils, wheras tiG's turns up a bit more?? Hers' looks a wee bit like EP.

They are both "keepers", tho'.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I think they look differant to me but yet close enough to be the same. I hope the Pink Beauty you sent me looks like that, which by the way is now 3 1/2ft tall. They are both just gorgeous. Beautiful color. But as you all say, soil, temp, feeding, location makes the same plant act or re-act differantly. Need to go look at Cala's Rosamond again.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Mine looks like Arlenes.

Cala - I have one from you labeled as Rosabelle. Has that one bloomed for you yet? My plant is only about a foot tall but it has a Y already!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

tiG's definitely looks different. And her pink goes higher it seems..................
but you guys have me so confused...(no fresh comments tiG!)...it seems every pink is up for debate. and also it seems you best know who yours came from originally to know which you have. hard to know which to wish upon a star for!!

It seem like I am missing all the good posts. I think, that I will cut down the working hours. I missed you all. :)

Arlene and Cala, how long have your flowers been open? In dark rosetta it will take the flower 1-3 days to curl backwards. It depends on the temperature and climate generally.

Poor Kell is easily confused, bless her heart!! It would be easy if the nurseries would tag them corectly to start with, but me thinking I had Pink Beauty sent out cuttings labeled "Pink Beauty" and they may not be, or others got "Rosa Traum" and it's not even pink!!
Poppysue, the Rosabelle is Rosabelle, Here is a picture of her little bud sticking straight up.

i love pregnant beautiful brugs! now, i think my pink beauty looks a lot like your dark rosetta...
the first time i saw mine curl backward was when dee was here. on friday night while looking i thought they would not open for 2 days, and the next morning before dawn i had 5-6 open and all curled back. wonderful tendrils and a color very very close to butterfly. fat calyx at the top. i keep thinking, Monika seemed to think it was rosamond. i just don't know.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Arlene, nime is close to the color of Butterfly also, but way bigger.

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

They are gorgeous. Love the darker pinks. Tonny, that dark Rosette is beautiful.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

the tendrils on mine are over 2" long, can't remember for sure, I measured once before. doesn't look like Cala's. mine's never that open, it curls right away.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

How do your pods look Arlene, TiG and Tonny? Here are mine.

too tiny to tell yet. I wish we could get two of these side by side in real life:) that would help soooo much!

here's my pods, another flower in the background. cala, 2 1/2 months to ripen!!! pretty seeds!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL Cala...............I think you all are confused and confusing!!! There is only one way to settle this.............you each need to send a cutting to a person in a warm climate that can grow them side by side all winter.........one whose DH just said last night that he would build a winter house for them....................
one who will take picture minute by minute.............

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

PS you all need to send at least 2 cuttings

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Arlene, did your calyxes fall off all by themselves or did you cut them off? My calyxes stayed on, the pods split some and I cut some.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

I think she means one named Kell !

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Kell, I've seen your photo work, lol.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

I think I am falling in love with pinks!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Me too!!!

Newberry, FL(Zone 8B)

Cala, i rip off the calyces. i know i'm not supposed to.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Arlene, it's okay, I do too. I've found aphids and stuff insid them, so I either split them or take them off.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Mine looks like Arlene's. tiG, I think we all need one like yours. Hopefully since my other one came from the same place as yours, I'll have the beautiful re-curve on the blooms. However, I have to say that Arlene's brug pictures are beautiful as well and I love my brug, whatever it is. I didn't have phone service from 2 in the afternoon until this morning. It is good to be back at Daves. I was bored to death last night.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I will take cuttings of course when I trim it to come inside. They'll be top of the Y though. And I want one like Arlenes!!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Will mine do? I can add it to the box.
