Well, right now, as of 10:30 Eastern Time, the winds are only 60 M.P.H., which you can get in a serious thunderstorm, so perhaps everything will be OK. Redrose, do you live right on the water?

Mason, MI

'Sending "good vibes" your way, RR.
Stay safe! :-)

be careful Rose, I think yall might be in the clear though! Looks like yall are going to be on the good side of the storm. They are now pushing it to a more eastern landfall than they expected. Landfall looks to be about 35 miles east of us now! That puts us on the 'good side' of the storm too! Take care and be safe. It has been raining here all day. Feels like it is raining all over the world..lol. Be safe! (((( Lisa ))))

Benton, KY(Zone 7a)

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/ftp/graphics/AT10/AL1002W.GIF This is the path Mel, I live right under the black dot, in the blue line area. I will be up tonight, I didn't sleep good last night. Jesse (DH) laughed at me a little while ago, he slept in the extra bedroom because he knew I would be up looking out of the window worrying about my critters. He told me he was sleeping in there again tonight.lol! As long as we have power, I'll be checking in and out. The community a couple of miles from us has already lost power. I am hoping the power stays on here.

Grove City, OH(Zone 6a)

Redrose, Lisa, Mini, and all our other neighbors close to this hurricane: we are all praying for your safety. Please check in as you return home (or before). Best wishes always.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

New Orleans is now getting somewhat flooded. There are a lot of streets closing . I should clarify that is street flooding, not the city itself ;-)

The storm will be hitting us in about 6 hours. The eye will be coming in over us. They are saying now that it will be Terrebonne Bay. The rain is coming down hard off and on and the wind is blowing, not too bad right now, it comes and goes.

We've been watching the weather reports here and I've been thinking of all of you on DG that live in the area of this storm.Keeping you in our prayers. I know how scarry Mother Nature can be, we were in the "big" earthquake a few years back, no fun. Stay safe, please keep us informed

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

It is 12:30 here and the weather is really getting bad
The wind is blowing so hard and the storm is fixing to make landfall. We are under a tornado warning. The guy on the radio just said that a very bad storm cell producing tornadoes is heading to our parish. The rain is coming down in sheets, sideways and the trees sound like they are just going to snap. Come on morning! I'm ready for this to be over. I can't sleep.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Lisa, have they seen tornadoes on the ground or rotation in radar? If it makes you feel any better (and I hope it does), 3/4 of the large thunderstorms around here have circulations detectable on radar, BUT they're only rotations, NOT definite tornadoes. The weather guys always say not to take chances, prepare for twisters, BUT out of all those circulations on radar, maybe one out of twelve produce a funnel cloud sighting and one out of twenty or thirty produce a real touchdown twister. Just in case, you know the drill, right? Grab the mattress and head for the bathtub.

Please Lord, keep Lisa safe. I'm sitting her miles away, trying to imagine the loudness, the heavy winds and rain, but I can only imagine how it is for her right now, looking nervously out the window. I know you have a bird's eye view, so can keep an eye on her. AND I know you're sticking your hands down there right now, putting them in the way of the really bad wind and rain, around her, Redrose, Mini, all the animals and everyone else who's seeing this storm. Keep them from harm, please, Lord, I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

(((Thank you Wingnut, God knows I"ve been praying ))))

Yes, the tornado has touched ground and has did a small amount of damage. The rain and winds are not letting up and it is now 3:a.m. here. I can hear things falling and blowing around. I thought by now things would have calmed down, but they are only getting worse.

Plenty folks here out of power, but so far, I've been spared the power outage. yay!

How are the La people doing this morning? I know you have rough weather as I am on the very, very edge of it in Panama City and we have steady winds of 25 mph. All blooms off the brugs and limbs down with a tornado near last night. We are fine here but lets me know how bad it must be over there and all in between.
Thinking of all you gardners in that area.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Lisa, how are things this morning? Saw the flooding on the news this morning.
Redrose, waiting to hear from you before I send your seeds and plants.

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

We are doing okay, fianlly got some rest around 4 a.m., it was pretty scary. It is still raining, but I think the for the most part, conditions should be improving as the day goes on. Thanks all for the prayers.

Lisa, am so glad to hear that you are okay. Hoping to hear good news from RedRose, too. Have been following the weather reports on TV, but they don't seem to say a whole lot. You and everyone there are in my prayers.

Spicewood, TX(Zone 8b)

Thank God you're okay, Lisa! One down, two to check in! :)

Brewers, KY(Zone 6b)

Rose should be okay, their area made out pretty good according to our news casts.
