Hi I'm so excited I finally got a flowering Dogwood this one is called China Girl, it gets big beautiful white flowers late spring and in the fall gets these big red berries. Question do the birds eat these berries dose anyone know?

I wish Dogwoods would grow
here, they do well, 60 miles East of where I live, but here they are straggly things. Enjoy your, they are lovely things

Thank you Melva, I first fell in love with them on route home from Florida one spring, then found a beauty in a church yard, here and I new I had to have one. I haven't seen this type though so now I can hardly wait untill spring to see it bloom. It also looks very pretty now with the berries. Linda

flowerpot... talk very nice to it. Dogwoods are one of 4 or 5 trees that don't like Fall transplanting. Even knowing that, I have put in 2 just a few days ago, and will hope for the best!

Oh Boy now my DH will think I've really lost it, as I talk to the chipmunks and the birds now!LOL I'll tell you a fuuny story. In an old house I lived in, there was this rose bush and it had not been cared for, so I decided to trim the heck out of it. My next door neighbour informed me I wouldn't get any roses this year because it was a climber and you don't trim them right back. Anyway the following spring I had all kinds of beautiful green leaves and then hundreds of buds, well I was very excited and went out every day and talked to it. One day I could actually see what colour it was and said to the rose bush OH you're going to be a beautiful pink rose, thinking I was all by myself. Then I hear this person say excuse me mame may I come into your yard we're fixing the electrical wires running thru the back yards here. I thought oh my this guys going to think what a nut bar this woman is talking to her rose bush. So I guess I can talk to my new tree my DH already knows I'm a little coo coo. ha ha have a good day
