just goes to show you that I know nothing!!!
I was going by this pic..................
Here you see the indians and no chiefs
You had to bring that picture up again didn't you? You've re-kindled my alley-envy. LOL
Maybe one day - if I listen very, very closely to everything Monika says.
LOL, my hair is of natural white blond color. Now its getting more and more white.
Hi Monika,
very good pictures!
You and your friends have a real smile in your faces.
I love to see it.
GL
Monika i couldn't live in a city either. nobody comes here by mistake, maybe someone every other year. my plants are for me and my critters. glad to see the indians and your gorgeous brugs, i'm gonna store some of mine this winter hook or crook.
monika, when do you get your first bloom?
arlene, I live a half mile away from the village, hidden in the bushes. People trying to visit me have a hard time to find my place. I love that. Ludger will agree, he didnt find me at first either.
The first flowers open in July, depending how June weather was. June is usual cool but the brugs grow and set buds. The plants keep on flowering until October.
This year, June weather was so unnatural hot, there was no growth at all. July was cool with a high humidity and I could watch my brugs grow and finally a late, but heavy bloom in August.
My goodness you and your sister do look alike, both are very attractive I must add too. Isn't it wonderful to have a sister that you are close to, to share things, blessings, sadness, to cheer one another up and so on. I miss my sister Marilyn so much! She's 15 years younger than me. She moved to Indiana and only get back to vist about once or twice a year now, but she always comes for the family reunion.
monika, what will happen to brugs in the winter here? i can't bring them in, i'm wondering what else i should do, or if they'll be fine?
Meiyu, I'm not Monika, but have read that you can mulch them really well and they will grow back from the roots next spring. If you can't bring them in, this would work or you can take new cuttings each fall for the next year's bloom.
thanks, brugie!! i noticed that the brugs at the sunken gardens don't die in the winter months, or at least they are still there the following spring, so i should be alright. PLUS, ma vie sent me some threads with you and some other 'experts' talking about rooting cuttings, and i can't wait to try that horizontal thingy you do!! and aren't you the one who found out that the side shoots will root, or was that calalily? i forgot, but i printed them, and am dying to try it!! my brugs that got almost destroyed in the windstorms a while back and i had to cut back are finally getting ready to bloom again!! i don't even know what one of them is...i can't wait!!! i hope the cuttings you gave me have a chance to bloom before it gets cold here...i know, i doubt it too, but, there's always hope!! thank you again, by the way! did you see the bed that peter built and planted them in? they have little flags to tell me which is what!! they're gonna be beautiful by next summer...i can't wait!!!!!
