My DH takes jus with him when he is in the fields.
I usualy buy 2liter bottles and fill them in 1/2 liter bottles. he likes it when I put half jus and half water.
anyways he forgot to bring me one bottle home a few days ago, I had it behind my counter and forgot it :)
tonight I was making the dishes and I found that bottle, it was still full and bloadet *LOL*
I twisted the lid a little and that thing was like when you shake a pop can.
then out of nowhere that thing made a big banggggggg and flew out of my hands. I had the lid still in my hands the bottle just flew up hit the celing fan smashed the lightbulb, and made a huge mess all over.
my dog just had the scare of his life. he jumped up the chairs just flew around *LOL*
I just grabed him and put him outside because there was glas all over.
I was swering and cleaning.
I was kinda lucky that thing could have exploaded right in my face.
just thought I share
DON'T LEAVE JUS BOTTLES FOR TO LONG.
don't leave plastic jus bottles sitting around
Do you have a bottle recycling system in any parts of US or Canada? We have. From small 33 cl bottles we get 10 cents, plastic 0,5 l bottles we get 20 cents, and 1l or 1,5 l bottles we get 40 cents. All the plastic bottles here are made of hard plastic. We also can recycle some drink cans, we get 15 cents of them, unless they are bought from tax free shops in ferries/planes.
Evert,
yes, we have recycling but we don't get anything.
all goes in the blue box and gets picked up every thursday.
we only get beer bottle refund and thats 10 cents a bottle.
They started recycling here in Alfred for about 2 years now.
Well, ok, actually we don't get anything either, we have to pay the 10/15/20/40 cents when we buy the things, it is included to the price... but some poor people might collect bottles from streetbanks and cities after public parties and earn some money.
In our area it is a funny situation. we are just across the river from Oregon, and up until quite recently I worked in oregon and would quite often stop and shop in oregon before I came home. In oregon there is a 5 cent deposit on cans/bottles. We drink a lot of diet coke in our household, so we accumulate a lot which we just put out on curbside recycling. However, in Washington there is no deposit on bottles and cans. If we buy cans in washington we cannot take them to oregon to get the refund, it's considered illegal. When I realized that we were paying the deposit then sending them to recycling, I stopped buying pop in Oregon...because it's 60 cents on a 12 pack extra...
A lot of people do buy pop in Washington and return the empties in Oregon. In fact, someone has stolen our cans from our curbside recycling several times, I suspect they are taking them to Oregon. so now, I make sure we crush them...
If I'm correct in Quebec there is also some depot on the cans, because a wile ago a friend of ours always asked us for the empty cans.
I recycle almost everything, but the small bottles come so handy in the tractor *LOL* after a wile I take new once and recycle the old once.
I remember when I was living in Switzerland, there they had the depot thing like Evert described.
Why do everybody drink diet coke? =)
nope NO diet stuff for us *LOL* we don't like the taste.
Me neither ;)
Evert, do you have Mountain Dew there?
Yes we do and it is ugly, no one likes it. We call it dishwasher liquid x) It's expensive too, 1,30 € for 0,5 l bottle. And in shop it costs 1,50 €for the same bottle. ----
When you come for your tour of the USA, you'll have try some of the unique sodas (soft drinks). Can't believe you think it tastes like dishwasher !!!
Well, it doesn't taste like dishwater, but the bottle looks like dishwashing liquid bottle :]
We don't have so many sodas nor candies than you, which is unfair :} And prices are higher here.
I like mountain dew *LOL*
Evert, any favorite candies you like? that you don't have there?
I could exchange candies for seeds *LOL*
Well, I haven't tasted many american candies but the flatted berry/fruit thingies are good, whatever you call them =)
Evert I need help on the "flatted berry/fruit thingies"??
anyone has any idea what candies these are???
Possibly a fruit roll up?? That is the only thing I can think of.
I LOVE Mountain Dew!! I've been drinking it for 18 years now!! I'd choose it over regular coke any day!! LOL
Mollybee, that could be it *LOL*
Actually they aren't candies but... We'll, I don't remember the name anymore. :}
I love coke, and don't like many other sodas. Light things are ugly.
Mountain Dew for 18 years? Mt Dew just came to Finland this autumn. x) So it's pretty new here.
Evert, are you talking about gummy worms?
Evert,
since I buy junk food for my DD once in a wile, I will send you some next time I buy some OK.
You know what they are now? =)
Well, what can I send to you?
Do you like any special candies? Maybe I should send salmiac for you too...
no Evert I'm not sure, but I send you a few different candies, maby one is the one *LOL*
what is salmiac?
the one candy I love, is one I used to buy in Italy morositta hmmmmmmmmm.
I love the HARIBO gummy bears and the HARIBO coke bottles.
once every two years I get some.
Haa, I knew you wouldn't know what is salmiac (sal-ammoniac) hehehe :) it is black candy... Well, you'll see then. Can you mail me your address and I'll send you mine?
I am going to a Turku-Stockholm ferry next Thursday, maybe I get some Haribo candies for you there. They have lots of different haribo ones on the ferries.
Why only once every two years? =)
evert,
is the black one licorihe??????
I LOVE licoris.
every two years my sister sends us a small package from switzerland, I don't know way it's like that!
I will mail you.
No, it isn't liquorice... I will send you some Finnish liquorice too :)
Be patient, I might be a bit slow buying and sending everything ;)
that's OK Evert,
there is no hurry.
:)
Evert, Can you better explain the Fruit candy you were talking about?
I'm wondering if it could be Taffy of some kind. Having 3 boys myself and they love candy they are always wanting me to buy them a new kind. I will be on the lookout for something flat and fruity to see if that is what you are talking about Evert.
Evert,
Have you tried the New Pepsi Blue? It's a new one here. Also a new one out by Dr Pepper something red I think. Cherry Coke?? have you had that one?
or the vanilla coke?
root beer?
Molly, I meant fruit roll up.
Pepsi Blue? No I haven't had it. I once tasted Dr. pepper and it wasn't good, but it was in Italy 1996, or then I remember wrong. They sell it in some markets here, not all.
Yes, I tasted cherry coke in Lithuania. I was so surprised that candy and soda selections were better in an ex-soviet state than here. Also angry >:| And everything was of course - much cheaper.
Haven't had vanilla coke nor rootbeer yet. They don't sell them here. Not surprised? =)
Evert, why are prices so high in Finland? Are your taxes high?
Yes, taxes are high, especially value-added tax on food. 2 bottles of coke (2 X 1,5l) costs 4,15 € in our nearest market!
Evert, please send me an email with your mailing address. I think you are about the same age as my son. 14? I think my son Jaden and I would love to put together a package for you of what the latest crazes are among the teens here. No postage required, all we need is your mailing address. I'll get Jaden and a couple of his friends together and we will put together a package for you. This sounds like a fun project to get Jaden and his friends involved in, since I don't think they realize that everything they take for granted isn't available to everyone all over the country. They will also learn about sending things overseas. I know for a fact that my son isn't as knowledgable about these things as you are, so I would welcome the opportunity to introduce him to it by sending you a package.
That is so sweet of you JoanJ!
Sounds great, maybe I could send something for you then? =)
I'll email you
Ok I am going to sound like the dummy here, but what is JUS?
OHHHHHH my
my spelling is real bad *LOL*
Mollybee I was talking about JUICE ;)
sorry about that.
LOL and here I was thinking hmmmm now I might just have to try that...LOL
Not a problem, it did keep me here watching this thread though hee hee
