I love these. Feed bloom booster, be sure the nitrogen isn't too high, but now is their normal blooming time. In Mexico, they bloom all winter.

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

Thanks Cala - I don't even know if it is fragrent - my nose wouldn't reach that far, lol!!

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Hmm, will have to climb a ladder and see, lol.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

glad you posted, I couldn't get a good picture. I love this, it will be beside my front door next year!!! bloom buster coming out tomorrow

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

Is this the vine that will grow from a leaf? It's very pretty.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

yes, it will. don't give up, it takes a while.

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

Tig, do you have an extra leaf or 2? I like to try to grow one.

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Greenleaf, you are gonna have to post a wish list!! I have a rooted cutting.

Catoosa, OK(Zone 7a)

It would be a very long list. I see something new that I want everytime I get on here. :-) I keep hoping to get something to share with you guys, but you have to much of a head start. I'm going to keep trying though.
I would love to have the cutting!

New Iberia, LA(Zone 9a)

Beautiful blue love these, I don't have any this one I always wanted this for long time a year now still have not got.

(Zone 5a)

I am so glad to see that you got your first blooms and it is very lovely. I never thought to see if mine were fragrant.

Tyler, TX(Zone 8a)

Cala, Do you think these will go through the winter if I cut them back and cover them good? I have one 10-12 feet tall but no blooms since I put them in the ground this past spring. It bloomed when it was small in the GH last winter but none so far. I think I will cut it back before frost and see what happens. At least I will have lots of cuttings and Leaves to play with any

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

arptiger,
I am in zone 8 in FL and mine came back from last year.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

they say that this vine should be pruned about three times a year, for bushiness! so I've been doing this and the cuttings are doing well..Calla..have you done a rooted soil cutting or in water (rooted cutting)? Elaine

Palmyra, VA(Zone 7a)

Elaine,
I had better results in soil, sometime I didn't bother with rooting hormone and still get about 75% rooted.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Logee's says this vine is day length sensative and pruning is recommended after the flowering cycle is complete - so you don't interupt the next flowering period. It says don't prune it any later than July or August so the plant will have plenty of time to grow and form buds for the next blooming cycle.

My plant must be a little confused. It's been blooming since July and it still making new buds.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

mine just started blooming within the last week and a half. so I should not prune at all??? it's in a pot and I have to bring it in cause I didn't know it was hardy (just assumed something that gorgeous would be tropical LOL!)
it's big !!!

Bay City, MI(Zone 5a)

what a beautiful blue flower!

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

Hmm, mine just started blooming also. I will leave it alone and let it bloom and die a natural death then mulch it and let it alone.

Hamilton, Canada

Gee I better get some fertilizer on mine...I had to actually nick the seeds to get them to sprout up here. I now have 4 vines about 6 inches tall. They should look good in the middle of winter here...lol.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

mine this morning. wish I had them in the ground:)

Oh Tig - you are sooo good at these things - I only had 2 blooms on mine!! You must really feed em good!

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

they're near the brugs and get some overspray from the MG sprayer. but all the blooms are on the back side!!! I've had twice as many facing the path I don't walk as the path I do :)

Jonesboro, GA(Zone 7b)

You spray with mg??? I just haul jugs & buckets!! I sure have a lot to learn!!

I usually feed with the water bucket too, but got a sprayer on clearance and use it frequently. makes life much easier, but then you still have to water them!! (or water them first)

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

PJ, did you see that we went on one day a week watering?? was supposed to be approved last night but nothing in today's online paper.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

you have watering restrictions also??? we're on odd and even addresses (two days a week until the end of Sept.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

i saw that site too. here is what logees have ... http://www.logees.com/store/products.asp?dept=0&pagenumber=18 >>> be sure to scroll down the page, to see what they have on this blue sky vine or THUNBERGIA GRANDIFLORA... it's also on sale!

Birmingham, AL(Zone 7b)

I've heard that they've come out with a dark blue one -- very distinct from the original Blue Sky.

Kell -- if you like royal blue, have a look at its cousin Thungbergia battiscombeii -- it is much easier in every respect and incredibly floriferous. Always covered with deep blue flowers with a yellow throat.

Hamilton, Canada

that one is very pretty!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I have that one PlanterRik, and love it! I was so shocked when it came back this year.

Mysore, India(Zone 10a)

Azalea
Lo and behold, I had bought one some months ago and today, yes today, I saw two of the first blooms exactly as the one you are showing there in the pic. It's almost the same size. :( I don't have a digital cam. I have to get contented with describing in words.

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

I babied mine that I got from Tim all winter . I was so bummed because it hadn't bloomed. This morning I walked by it and there was a fully open bloom. It is so pretty. It sure made my day.

Ace, TX(Zone 8a)

OK I'm hooked, saw these at the TX Ren. Festival....Anyone got one for trade?
