Peony Sale

Port Huron, MI(Zone 5b)

I received a flyer in the mail from Breck's Nursery. Their peonies are on sale at a pretty good price(with a lifetime guarantee). The price is $19.99 for 4 peonies(named). They would only be shipping roots, but still sounds pretty good, as I saw unnamed ones yesterday at Lowe's for $11.96 each.
The ad says.....shop on-line at myseasons.com and they ship in the fall. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else thinks its a good deal also.

SD..I think myseasons.com is a parent company for Gurney's, as well as other companies. If so, I have ordered from Gurney's for years and the lifetime guarantee is great (they offer this with all of their plants). I've had things replaced without hassle from Gurney's for 3 consecutive years, and all it took was a phone call. I must be dense in not being able to grow pampas grass..lol..but everything I've always ordered from them was spectacular in condition. Thanks for sharing about the peonies :)

Thanks for the information. But, I always wondered about 'lifetime guarantees'. Is something goes kapoot, isn't its life over, and therefore the guarantee is void?lol! We used to have a sports shop in town that guaranteed its worms to 'catch fish or die trying!'!

I think this Gurney's company must have a hundred thousand names. I've purchased from one of their companies called "Henry and Fields". I bought lots of trees from them, and was THRILLED with the quality of the product I received. They are a very good and reputable company, in my experience.

Glad to hear all the good reports..now I feel safe to order.

Sandy, here's a few years worth of customer comments about Gurneys and Foster Gallaher, their parent company. Some are good, some are bad. http://pbmfaq.dvol.com/list/gurney.html

In case you're wondering where I got this link, it's an entry in the Plants By Mail FAQ, which is a good source for information about a lot of mail order seed and plant companies.
