Well, I've reconsidered my position on the forum for this project.

You guys can come up with the name of the forum (I would suggest whatever name you agree on for the "travelers"), we'll have your forum up and running for you.

Just a few ideas...

I really like Trish and Dave's Great Adventure. I think that using 'Flat' might cause some copyright questions if anyone got wind of it. Might be better to not have it in the title. just thinking:)

Garden Highway!

Well, this is getting good, better! I think the flat should be left out for copyright issues, although I love the Flathead area of Montana. I do also love the The Traveling Wilburys, wish I had that CD. Trish and Dave's Great Adventure is sounding good but I wonder what else someone will come up with.
I am loving all the ideas!

How about a name with a garden name in it. A flower name or a plant of some type. Plus too. We have to remember. since this is copy righted. we can not use that stanley picture that is on the website. so. we have to come up with another drawing.

they could have a fun names. Be creative!!!!!!!! Something new and different. if this takes off. and people hear about it . you want it to be cleaver.! Give them last name like "Vine" If this is a garden thing, names could be garden related. Put on your thinking caps!Dust them off first. Don;t want anyone to get hurt! :)

The drawings I used are rendered from photographs that I took with the exception of the heads which were borrowed from here at DG...So no copyright problems unless Dave or Trish object to their heads being used.

they should be animated. cartoon shaped people. like the one at the site for stanley is basic . simple. just a face. If you use peoples likeness. some get offended or you never know what can happen down the line. stick with basic . keep it simple.

Let's go back in time, the 70's Flower People, Flower Power, too far back!

According to the original Stanley creator the idea was to have the kids create their own Stanley type person using whatever method they chose. The template was made later because many people wanted a starting place. Being a Big Kid at heart I chose the photolab as my "Art" medium and I think it is still within the spirit of the project. But it is not that we will be copying the project exactly but taking the concept and expanding and altering it to serve our specific needs. Even within the registered "Stanley" program there seems to be a wide varity of aproaches being used. Since we are not a school participating in the project and will be using only the concept in the most general way I doubt that there could be any infringment issues so long as we do not copy their templates or names.

ZAny.....how about a nice drawing incorporating a drawing of a fake persons face in a plant form? Or not using people at all, but a plant in a flower pot/ ?? just a thought. Maybe try something a tad different tthan Stanley. but using the format? Make it more interesting? HAY! YOu could call the guy one HERB!!!!!!!!!!!! LOLOL HERB AND ROSE!!!!!!!!!!!

I will go with the majority and make them whatever way you all would like. So keep the ideas rolling in and maybe we can take a vote on what the final winners are?

I like Gourdy/Gordie and Iris.
I like what Mings said about them being cartoonish, instead of using David and Trish's pictures. We could do more silly things with them.

we have a member named Iris. Now, I love her and she's one of the best, but maybe we should pick a female flower that isn't used? Or make one up from a flower name, change it a bit? love Gourdy. or Edgourdo LOL!!! okay, I'll take my meds now!!!

Melon, Composta, Jasmine, Tildé, Willow, Poppy...or Flower?

oh Willow!!! my vote is for Willow, doesn't she seem willowy to you?? not composta! LOL!!! we have a poppy, flower is too generic to have been based on our lovely Trish. you came up with a list fast!
