MaVie or Jianhua or Tim???
Hmmmm....looks kinda like Witch Hazel. Now I'm curious tho.
It's actually just called 'Green Stuff' RR, and it is written on it, from top to bottom,
"Beware when using this Green Stuff, people will want to photograph the bottle"
;-)
Wintermoor
LOL MY LAUGH FOR TODAY.
HAH! Wintermoor, Methinks you've been hittin' the Green Stuff? ;>)
Actually it was more of a amber colour 'Shoe ;-)
*hic*
Wintermoor
RR, just a thought, but if you can find an Oriental grocery store, they may sell this stuff there. Many of them sell cosmetics and toiletries.
It is not Witch Hazel it smell sweet but it is hard to explain what it smell like so when I look in back label it peel half of label off that what I see in the middle read label said Eagle B??? So I went by 3 Asain store they don't know how to speak what I am looking for it not have there at all, it must be from order. I wish to find where it get from so I can get me one. I love the smell so wonderfully.
My friend live across the street and ask him to see if he could read so he said no and they said heard the bottle are legal to sell.
So he wish to know what the name is but forgot so he said very good to use for sore muscle and others too and said put this liquid put on skin then a coin rubbing on the skin for about few minutes and the sore muscle gone fast.
I am not sure if it is legal or not so, I wait for Tim or MaVie or Jianhua might know what it is.
Hi Redrose,
MAybe its similar to this stuff.....
http://stores.yahoo.com/tayabas/gensym-3576.html
I am not sure if this one but I will wait for them answer which it is for sure. Thank you BJT72 :)
Red Rose, I actually have a bottle of that! It smells wonderful and is very soothing for sore muscles and insect stings. I got it from the acupuncturist about three years ago -- she just called it "Green Oil" -- I don't know if that is a literal translation of what's on the label. I'm sure you'll be able to find an acupuncturist who carries it, but I suggest you try to find one who studied in China (this is not unusual -- in fact it's pretty common, because there are many such exchange programs for students of oriental medicine), as then he or she will be more likely to be familiar with it.
sorry Debbie, i do not read Chinese. try what whiterose suggested. take the bottle with u, and show to any asian store clerk. maybe they know. i will ask around. okay? any asian stores should carry them. next time i go i will look around, and let u know.
Barry, the only green bottle i am familiar with is Glenfidditch LOL!!! do i love the contents of that stuff. sooo smooth! LOL!!!!
This is not mine bottle MaVie, we went to the park and saw the lady has it and asked her to see if can take picture of it and she let me. We don't know who is this lady. It is ok. I hope maybe someone else know might can read. =)
Thank you anyway!

Jianhua should be responding shortly. i sent him an email.
well, you could probably take whiterose's word for it since she has it.
Oh my!Redrose,i'd say you have hit a 'jackbottle".
This is an authenic chinese stuff.·çÓ;«(Feng You Jing),whose english name is Essential Balm, is a
multipurpose oily liquid.(different from women's witch hazel.)
Want to have a cool when enjoying sunshine bathing?
Feeling headach or sickness or dizziness when travelling?feeling sleepy sitting up late at night at puter?the mosquito or insect bites you.catching a cold and the nose is blocked?......
All these cases...what should you do?
Use the Essential Balm!(it's easy--just pour a few drops on the needed part, rubbing, and then experience)
Compositions:menthol,methyl salicylate,camphor,eucalytus oil,clove oil,liquid paraffin,chlorophyll,essence.
One special caution:Attention should be paid to pregnant women and children under 3 years.
By the way, just in my pocket there is one this magic bottle
(it's brand is Narcissus.the flavor is nice and after rubbing on skin, feeling cool.using is believing,): )
Any questions ?i'd like to respond !
Rose, surely she told you where you can get some, right??
Jianhua, name brand please or manufacturer or distributor worldwide? can it be bought on line? give me details and i will look it up. thanks!!!
Thanks so much, I will looking for it. =)
Yes tiG right, I hope to find one if not here so I will go Lafayette to see about. I hope it cost cheaper enough for me afford. Really those smell so good.

Red Rose, the acupuncturist I bought my bottle from is no longer in town, but I would be happy to try to track it down and send you some if you can't find it. There are probably more acupuncturists around where you live than there are here (only two in town now, and they don't sell Green Oil). Let me know.
Ok whiterose thank you so much and for sure will let you know if I don't find. Thanks again.
redrose, just saw this in dg's newsletter (which i rarely have time to read)...mama reads kanji...i will ask her to translate, if that will help. it's almost midnight now, but will show it to her in the morning!
Ok fine thanks =)
Red Rose, so far I have not been able to find this product on the Internet. My thought is this: since you do not own the bottle, can you print the picture that you took for DG and show the picture to an experienced acupuncturist? The bottle is easily recognizable and I just know that someone with access will recognize it. I will continue to search online and will try to find out where the acupuncturist who sold it to me has gone.
most Asian stores do have cosmetic counters. that is where u try to find them. unfortunate i do not live in Los Angeles anymore. i knew where i will find them in L.A., not in the isolated desert. most Korean stores have their own cosmetic department.
i tried searching online but could not find any either.
1.Where is the bottle from?
'·çÓ;«' on the bottle are chinese characters.so i am certain that the product is from China or Chinese Taiwan, not from Japan,Korea,Philipines or other oriental countries.
2.What does the three characters mean?
It means 'cool oily essence'.its english name is Essential Balm.
3.What is it used for?
The essential balm is not a perfume, not a medicine, also not an adult's drug.it is just essential balm.when i feel dizzy in the burning sun,i get a drop or two near my nose, breathing deeply.thus i feel well again.when a mosquito
stings or an ant bites me,i rub on the affected
part with a few drops,it will soon get better...that is it.
4.What does it contain?
it is mainly made up of some essence of mint, camphor, eucalyptus and clove.
Mavierose,
There are several brands of the essential balm.one of the noted is Narcissus, which i keep using since i was a kid.you can contact them:
Address:No.1 Nanshan Road,Zhangzhou,Fujian,China. Manufacturer:Fujian Qingshan Zhangzhou Perfumery INdustry Co.Ltd
Tel:0596-2302365 23005320
Fax:0596-2303900
Zip code:363000
Sorry there is no website or email account available .
Jianhua, i've searched online for 'Essential Balm', 'Green Oil' with no results!!! once, i've used Tiger Balm, but not this one. maybe if u give the manufacturer or supplier's name i can find better result. it is almost like trying to find a needle in a hay stalk, with no leads to guide me on my research. i've seen some products online with all, if not more ingredients, but they all are diffrent in container and trade name or form. give me the right leads, and hopefully i will find them.
i suggested Koren store, simply because they do sell a big array of asian consmetics than the other asian culture. seem like Koreans are far more serious when it comes to selling cosmetics in their stores than other asian cultures.
I was going thru my medicine cabinet and came across a containr of tiger balm, cant remember why I bought it, and now I cant remember what all it is used for.
RedRose, you have introduced something to us in this post, and Jianhua has explained all it is good for, I suspect a lot of us DG'ers will be looking for this products, it sounds like it would be useful for a lot of things. I am going to go to Chinatown and see if I can find some. Will let you all know if I find it
Jianhua, thanks so much for your information, I am looking forward to trying it.
Thanks peeble! So a cross the street my friend said it is medicine extreme use only. So I hope u find.
is this the same stuff? the bottle is different though

Eureka! I found the oil and got you a couple of bottles. An acupuncturist in Aztec, New Mexico, where we often shop, has it.
The oil is called Eagle Brand Medicated Oil. It is made by Wilhelm Hauffmann & Co. in Singapore, and the sole US distributor is the Anhing Corporation (which does not have a website, as far as I can tell). Anhing is based in Los Angeles, CA and the phone number is 213-221-8003. The Chinese name for the product is Fong Yeow Cheng. It costs $4.95 for a 0.4 fluid ounce bottle, and a little goes a long way.
There was a recall of this product in 2001 because it contained too much methyl salicylate; it was reformulated and the present formula is safe -- but ONLY if you buy the kind distributed by Anhing. There are many knock-off brands that are not safe.
Please let me know where you would like me to send the bottles.

Pebble, Tiger balm is used like u would use Vick's vapor rub, specially when heavily congested. be careful using Tiger balm, heat it gives sometimes is intense if over used. Jianhua might have other ideas, but that is what i used it for. sometimes is also good to relieve muscle spasm, even good for insect bites. . i was paralyzed as a child,we used to have Chinese neighbor in the PHils they would come over all the time to give Chinese medication to relieved pains due to rheumatic heart. the reason why i am familiar with some of this, but not all.
Jianhua! we need lessons here on Chinese medication LOL!!!
thanks for the info Whiterose, deeply appreciate ur info.
whiterose, use the copy and paste method to attached a url. are u surprise it is that simple LOL! ok am off to check the site.
ok, i just wrote the company and made inquiries about their product. apparently there is hardly any info on their website except photos of what they sell. will keep everyone informed on what i get in response to my inquiry/ies.
I just went to my local Oriental market, and though they didnt have that brand, I did buy something called:
efficascent oil, which containes
methyl salicylate,
camphor
menthol
eucalyptis oil
the gal there said that this is basically the same thing..
this one is from the phillippines 1.76 oz (50ML) for 2.95
and for the uses it names everything that Jianhua said, from headaches to backaches, cramps, insect bites, sore muscles etc etc. wow - will this be the new wonder cure all????
This market just opened a couple of weeks ago, the wife is from the Philippines, and the husband is american. I bought a whole bunch of stuff there yesterday, and went back today and got a whole bunch stuff more, including the oil. I am trying to talk them into stocking some middle eastern things too. they are very open to the idea....

wow...you all have been very busy today! i got my mama to look at it and all she could get from it is "wind oil"...probably confusing wind with cool...then came on, and saw all these new replies...wow again!!! i'm gonna have to find some of this stuff, too.
pebble, i use tiger balm to massage my achy muscles after gardening...it also helps my arthritis, or at least feels so good, i just forget i hurt!! be careful not to get it in your eyes, though...wash hands before touching anything else!!
