question about dwarf grapefruit

i purchased a dwarf grapefruit tree late last year and this year it bloomed, flowers fell off, it bloomed again, flowers fell off again. However it does look like 2 fruits are growing. My question is: why did the flowers fall off, fall off again and then grow fruit? I'm not really complaining since i wasn't expecting fruit at all this year, I would just like to increase my chances of getting more than just two.

Stats are: 4 ft? in a very large container. TIA
