thanks sweetie. have decided that since they are so slow to root, I'll just pop by Lowes and get a new baby one for $1.49 every time I go to Walmart for groceries. Wonder how many I'd want outside next year???

they sure are slow grower too! i bought one @ HD last year. it is only less than a foot high. it is green and yellow. i do not know the name cause HD distributor never give them name.

I may get the slighty larger ones next time, but they didn't have any that were bigger than 4-5". That's okay though, cause I found something I'd really wanted.

MaVieRose,

I have only one of these and its wonderfully multicolored. I'm going to try the air layering method on a couple of the orange and the yellow leaves. The links are helpful.

good luck Joydie :)! let us know the outcome. curious here. there are so many varieties of those in the Philippines, but i never explored in growing them myself. this is the 1st time i ventured into growing them. back home they use crotons as fence. they grow to nearly 6' tall.

tiG,

The one I sent you is second one of two, first one sent to Ca. It started as one plant, had it for 2 yrs. it sent off the second plant, which I separated and had two. I fertilized and had in semi-sun to make all the beautiful colors.

I'll let you know how I make out. I potted the cuttings this morning. Always eager to learn something new.
