I have this huge front yard and hadn't a clue what I wanted to do with it. Guess what is going in all along the curved driveway? Mike says brugs have one saving grace, they are critter attractors. As a Nature Photographer, that's the whole reason our garden got started, so he could get shots of creepy, crawly, feathered and furry critters.
These plants are going to make my front yard! I don't care what color they are, LOL!

Just wait until you start growing the brugs from cuttings and the crop grows to 50+ different kinds. Your better half will have lots of subjects for his photography, and I'm not talking just critters. He will love the the brug itself. You are right. Cala is very kind and generous.

Hey tig and Brugie, we roped another one in. Annie is supposed to be coming to the plant swap at Arlene's, hehehe, she just doesn't know what she is in for.
Arlene is bound to drown her in information if not brugs themselves. I think Arlene must be up to 150 named varieties so far. Isn't that at least close Arlene? As for Cala, I think she has made some crosses to be jealous of this year. Heck, I know she has. It won't be long and Cala will post some pictures of her Charles Grimaldi x Ecuador pink for us....I hope.

Brugman, i'm not sure how many different brugs i have but i am thinking maybe 60 plus named and 30-40 seedlings. i have had to do some serious thinning this year already. sent a new friend away yesterday with a blooming insignis pink and a white seedling. It seems i did make a pod on Kyle's Pink, hit it with pink beauty.....
Arlene did you or anyone else get a pod to set on Creamsickle?
Mine has buds(so excited,a double with buds) and curious if anyone has pods on theirs.....

General question, can some one tell me a good book to get that is geared toward the basic knowledge I need to grow and keep brugs? Something along the lines of Brug growing made simple? LOL, the simpler the better.

Annie, everything you need is in this forum, just start reading and go all the way back to last summer. You will have a head full of what you need. Cala is putting together a FAQ primer for getting started, but she's sick and hasn't had time yet.
I wondered why we hadn't seen Cala post this weekend. I hope she is feeling better soon. Thought maybe they had gone camping or something.
CC, i haven't tried to set pods on it lately, my pods are just now starting to take!!!! when the flower just opens it has nice fat fluffy pollen (so far). mine is just blooming again, gonna try to cross both ways, tonight's the night!! i'm so glad you have blooms it's really nice. when my skirts don't drop it looks like a stuffed candida double only 3 times as big!

OK, I've obviously missed something. You mean to tell me that I hobbled out to the mail box(well, actually she brought it up to the office) dragged myself over to the table and feebly used a box cutter to open up a box that had a FROSTY in it????? Not only that, I (being barely able to stand up) potted it in my BEST potting soil???? and painfully hobbled with it carefully craddled in my feeble little hands(are y'all feeling sorry for me yet?)up to the Jungle House!!
