photo album 'spring in the garden' updated

Antrim, Northern Ire, United Kingdom(Zone 8b)

I must be totally crazy in the head!! The sun has been shining here all week and all I do is scan 35mm slides to add to my photo albums.

anyway, Spring in the Garden has been updated and now has the following added.
Trilliums, Erythroniums and Fritillarias.
I know I said it wasn't gonna include bulbs but there are a few that need to be included. I also put in a few daffs to illusrate a point. There are people out there who breed daffodils like any other plant. They wait around 5 years for the bulbs to flower only to dump/destroy or give them away because they aren't good enough! Have a look at the daffs in the photo album and tell me if you would buy them if they were available. It's not everyone gets hold of these bulbs as the grower would rather have them totally destroyed.

I cannot imagine destroying these! The double one is misshappen for a daffodil but I thought it added interest to it! I suppose they figure if it would not pass show requirements it isn't worth selling. But a lot of grow flowers for their beauty not for the blue ribbon we might win! Thank you for sharing them with us.

Did you manage to save any of the bulbs for yourself?

a new gardening friend of mine is good friends with the daff grower so I am gonna get some via her. I hope the grower isn't on DG!!

hi Tinkle

the scanner I use is a Coolscan3 made by Nikon. What I really like about it is that if the slide is scratched it can scan inside the thickness of the slide to give a clear copy.

It's a bit pricey but it's the top of the range for it's size
