It is a cross between x candida flore plena x Carmencita. The seedling started to bloom in June. The picture shows the second flush of flowers.
A new hybrid
I have not deceided yet.
Gorgeous - when you have a first flush you get 50 blooms, when I have a first flush I get 5. Surely this isn't a first year plant. Please tell me this isn't a brand new plant.
Just look at those tendrils! The shape is beautiful ~~
It is a brandnew plant. It got a Y at a size of 1m.
Boy, you're good!
The master at work. Sure you don't want to adopt me??
all your brugs are beautiful, monika. which is the pink one in the back? were these pics made at the same time?
Congratulations, Monika! I like these long tendrils too and it has got real x candida shape (forgive me, I only know the Tutu I had and the fl. pl. I have now *lol*). It has nice color too. If I remember right Carmencita is turning peach (+ peach + white) and fl. pl. is true white (+ white - white). That makes it close a miracle to get a colored one from this cross. I hope you choose to keep and name it.
Very pretty. How come my first flushes don't look like that? Mine are like Liz's--5.
Ok, you don't have to adopt me but can I apprentice with you? This one is certainly nice and for sure you are going to keep it!
Sorry Monika - I don't move pots - I'm bringing Tonny's brother.
Monika very nice!! :-)
Hmm - you mean I can't get by with my sparkling personality? LOL.
Don't forget how she waters brugcrazy - buckets and sunshine. I'll pull my weight ( or throw out my back).
Lovely!!!!
very nice, and I'm with you guys but I only get 2 or 3 first flush blooms...
Beautiful flower. I'm ecstatic if I get two blooms on a first flush. Don't know if my heart could take fifty.
Snow, my heart could take fifty. Wouldn't hear it, but I'm sure it would skip a beat or two. I had one new seedling that only had one bloom. Can anyone top that? :-)
Well, that was rude. I came here to say how pretty the brug was and got sidetracked. I'm one who likes long tendrils and this is very pretty Monika.

Thanks to all of you. Wish you were here, need some help for the Day of the Open Garden next sunday Sept. 1. Tonny makes the man of honor and his brother does the work, LOL!
Tonny, Carmencita is a flore plena too and I have another white colored hybrid out of this cross with a fringed corolla edge, the flowers are single, half filled or full doubles. It blooms just as well.
arlene, the pink one in the back is Favorite's Delight, a cross between Pink Favorite and Pink Delight.

As usaul, it is a beauty! Actually both are! But tell me, if it Ys at 1 meter how does it have such a tall canopy?
I told you everyone here would want to go live with you! Tell your daughter she better watch out!
Tonny, are you going to monika's???? I'm just green with envy. Monika, this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen. You are so good.
Thats one heavy second flush.
It grows and blooms, kell. The pictures were made a week ago. Its still blooming.
Thats one of the most important characteristics to me. Of course when it comes to brugs you have us all in awe. Sounds like that one blooms much more frequently and heavier than Isabella.
I dont know Isabella. This hybrid sets on flowers like versi Kaskade, looks like a curtain.
Isabella was a hybrid I used to compare or judge my other hybrids with as it was the heaviest most frequent repeat bloomer I had. I don't know its origin though. Clearly your Euro hybrids far exceed Isabella though. Perhaps Isabella was one that escaped from your compost pile?
It probably did, LOL!. But be serious Eric, there are so many pink B. suaveolens hybrids (about 30) with glorious names on the european market, too many! I have only a selection which I think, are the best: Adora, Favorite's Delight, Flamenco, Pink Delight, Rosa Fanfare and Raffaela.
The differ from each other and all have very large and lasting flowers.
Many people order by name alone and are dissappointed, when they have look alike plants. There is a urgent need for selection but it is impossible to get these retailers under one hat. Who has the most hybrids on his list - thats what counts!
Monika,
I must confess...I don't like pure suaveolens...but much prefer a brug with a bit of suaveolens in it...just not too much suaveolens. I like the deep veining and the wide mouth inherent in the suaveolens and the fragrance of some of them as well, but not the pure suaveolens.
Then you would like Pink Delight. She opens at night very broad (26-28cm) you can wear it as a hat. Favorite's Delight does the same.
That's the next picture I'd like to see Monika, you with a Pink Delight hat. LOL
Some other time you say??
*LOL* Monika about my brother. *lol* Michael is fortunately 150 km.`s from my place, so he is quite safe from me commanding him around with pots. *lol*
I wish I could be to help you Sunday on your Day of the Open Garden. *Waaahh!* <:Žo Lene`s brother, Erik, is coming form Jylland to help move the electrcai installations in the kitches. Darn! Housebuilding here, while you have most of the fun. *lol* Monika, it would have been the perfect occation to squeeze your hand and finally get to meet you and your DH and all the cats in person. Will Ludger be there?
Of the pink suaveolens and x insignis types, that I know by now I prefer the mystical "R" pink Brug. I have used a few of the other I have, but mostly for the fun (or for being too manic to be able to stop *lol*). I must admit, that Eric has given me quite an impression about Isabella. I will use Isabella next year and compare Isabellas offspring to the offspring of Brug "R" to select the final favorite. Maybe both will have different, but good qualifications as breeding plants.
Monika, maybe I didnot express my question correctly. If this tree Yed at 3 feet, and now it looks like it is over 6 feet, how is it now a single trunk and not more of a bush? Mine that have a single trunk, do not Y until they are at least over 5 feet.
thanks
kell, the plant is not taller as I am, 1.65m. It has a single trunk, no side sprouts at all. It is tree. The point of closing up the vegetative growth is regulated by the genes of a plant. Such plants can be considered as valuable and if it blooms in such profusion, its even more valuable.
Tonny, almost everything is in full bloom. Ludger is visiting me today to pick up plants and make pictures.

Monika, that`s great. Ludger will be happy as a child, when he sees the plants you have for him. :-) I heard, that your best camera was broken. Is Ludger going to make digital photos or use an ordinary camera? Have you tried digital photographing, Monika? I don`t know, how good they print, if you will use them later for a book, but for Internet and computer use, this is great. You can take maybe 50 different photos of the same plant/flower and then go to the computer and instantly select be best shots. I think I took about 2.000 Brug and Datura pictures this year alone. Besides from making pictures for printed books, digital cameras have many different high qualities.
Tonny, you really should get over there before Ludger cleans out the compost pile!! y'all could split it!
Well, that answers it then Monika. I thought it was much taller! So once it Yed it did bush up and form the canopy!
thanks
Tonny, I already did a major sell job on the digital camera........... Monika was not convinced!! You and I just want her to post more and more pictures!!! LOL

Tonny, why dont you saddle Sleipnir and come for a visit on sunday?
Ludger cleaned up my compost pile, he saved some from getting shredded. We had a wonderful time together, sitting on rocks under the Brug trees, chatting about guess what?
He has a Digi camera and made many pictures. He photographed every Brug blooming.
That lucky devil. Ludger probably knows more about brugs than half of us put together now. A few hours in Monika's company. Heck, that would be worth several Rothkirch's in and of itself. Can't wait to see the pictures he'll post for us. Keeping my fingers crossed on that last one. He will share won't he?
I think most of us live on the wrong continent. If we lived in Europe then Ludger would have to share the compost with us because we'd all be at your place drooling Monika. I guess we just have to blame our parents, LOL. In fact my family moved from Germany to Ireland in 1700 and then my Dad moved to Canada after WW2.
