The second EP x Rothkirch offspring

FSH, TX

Badseed-I must confess that Monika has me convinced that Ecuador pink and Rothkirch are the two best hybrids for breeding dark pinks. Seeing seedlings between the two is something incredible. I'm still waiting for a brilliant cherry red double from that cross though to be honest.

I dont believe, there will be a double in this cross Eric.

It just gets better and better, remember? We saw how many,7? out of one pod? What happened to these Monika? Are you waiting for another year?

If I may ask Monika, why would a Rothkirch X EP make a double? And would it have a good chace at being pink instead of white? thanks

Liz,I have 32 hybrids out of this cross, 14 of them have already flowered, about 8 have the names, the others are just as beautiful (many look alikes), the rest will flower this year as the tops had already a Y. I had cut and rooted these tops in the fall. There has been only one white coloured plant so far. Rothkirch does bring pink offspring when used as a mother plant when pollinated with a white coloured plant, even pink doubles but they have the same growing habit as their mother but are TRUE pink doubles, which makes them much more valuable as the rest.

Monika - didn't know there was a pink double anywhere - this is a "must Have" for many of us in the US. Someway!!!

Sounds like you won the brug lottery Monika, LOL. All from one pod - amazing. Experience and background knowledge sure pays off.
