Mandevilla? propagation.I think I did it!

I'm not sure, but I think those little leaves are new. I went to pull off some wilted leaves, and there they were! But they're growing out of what looks like a dead wood stem??? Can that be?

whenever u respond or open a thread, u should always click on 'watch this thread' that way u do not lose threads that is of interest to u. once u get a respond, u will always get notification when u enter DG forum. i told u that from the very beginning????

hahaha...yeah, ma vie, but i keep forgetting or i'll have a thread up and get called away from the comp for a few minutes, and the next thing i know my kids have logged me off and taken over, or, well, something happens...i seem to remember other threads that i haven't seen pop up either, but i can't remember what or where the are...i'm sure i forgot to click watch on them, too.

Meiyu, meiyu, listen! each time u respond to a thread, once u click send, there will be a message that will say on the lowest message, watch this thread. click on it. so when u log back in to DG, new response will appear on ur screen prior to even opening other forums or thread.

all i know, ma vie, is we should start a different thread before anyone thinks i actually got any mandevillas rooted by seeing this pic...hahaha...they all died!!! the good news is, the plumeria root that i thought was dead and the mandevilla cutting was wrapped around, started shooting out all kinds of new leaves!!! i didn't think you could grow a new plant just with the bottom of the stem after i'd cut all the branches and the top off to plant somewhere else!! oh, and ma vie...i went and clicked on the link, and that was one i thought i was watching too, but i guess i forgot to click watch on that one also...you can hit me over the head later, k?

that's exactly what i did, ma vie! and started mold experiments with them!

hey, ma vie and kell...do you want me to send you guys some of these allamanda cuttings we started, just in case we kill them too? i mean, we only had one survive so far, and it was in jim's hands, not mine. he started 75 more for me, but they're here...probably not too good a plan for those who would like theirs to root successfully...there's enough for you and i to try, and as long as one of us gets root, you'll have your plants!! let me know, k?

GOT SEEDS TODAY TOO!!! for some reason, three of the small pods turned dark and cracked open...tons of little hairy seeds inside! it is said to be a weed and a pest in some country, forgot which one, so i'm thinking the seeds would germinate easily. ma vie, i'll send you both!
kell, wanna try the seeds? the pods broke into 3 and each 3rd must have about 30-60 seeds, i can't see anything that small. i'm sending out a 3rd of a pod to whomever wants to try, with you being one of the top listed, so let me know. oh, and the cuttings are still alive...hehehe...day 4 i think?

LOL Meiyu, it takes more than 2 weeks to root a cutting depending on the type of cuttings u are trying to propagate.
some take longer, some roots right away. of course it also depend on the rooting medium u use and container. so far the best way to root is the soda bottle method. as they say "set and forget it", but do try to check once in a while if there is still enough moisture in the plastic bottle or mini greenhouse atmosphere inside the plastic bottle.

okay, ma vie, hehehe, ya got me...i'm hoping someone else will do it!!! hahaha!!! i've got so much going on i'm lucky to have anything in my garden alive...did you hear about my canna seed, though? i did it!! unless a weed popped up looking like a baby canna...could be? dang, i'm watching too many threads and can't get off the computer again!!!! make sure you send me a double check list in my email for what i'm sending you...do you wanna mess with the bird of paradise and papaya seeds? i haven't even had time to open the packages, but i did start all the gingers and stuff...gosh i hope those don't die!!!
