Does anyone know of a source for Catalpa bignoides 'Aurea'. I've tried searching but haven't found any nurseries carrying it that are still in business. Does this cultivar breed true from seed or does it need to be propagated by cuttings?
Catalpa bignoides 'Aurea'
Hello, CB!
Check out Forestfarm. I see it listed in their catalog.
Here is a link: http://www.forestfarm.com
Is that the latin name for them? I have plenty catalba seedlings if you are interested.
BB,
Is it the golden-leaved Catalpa?
No, they are only golden when they turn in the fall.
If you do a search on www.google.com, and enter that name in the search field, you will find a number of places selling it. The picture of the one at Whitman Farms is quite pretty.
