It's time to start dividing things around here. Is there a place on this forum that talks about dividing differnt types of plants? I want to give away some Artem, worm wood plant. Do I take cuttings?
I'm also going to divide some other plants but I'm not sure were to find out how. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Well Belledonna, my suggestion is, you should leave it, it looks kinda fabulous where it sits, perfect scale. I can see why others, no names mentioned, would look upon it with lust and envy, but they'll just have to consider how happily, rounded and beautifully it flourishes.

Ha ha ha! I love to share though! And I do have a few friends here and there that would like to have a piece of this little charming plant. I thought it was worm wood and would keep bugs at bay. It is just beautiful. And if you share it makes it even More beautiful!

Donna,

Dig up a small portion with some root system still intact.
Nice plant.

Hey Bella,
I see you found your way here. I lied about something though. I propogate 'Powis Castle' by rooting cuttings. Do you have a close up of the plant? Several of the Arts go by wormwood, but as far as I know only one is actually called wormwood. LOL

I'll try and take a pic tonight and post it :-)

wormwood are very easy to root. get a cutting and stick on the ground. in no time, they will root and flourish [no need to use rooting hormone]. i've got some rooted if anyone is interested for postage or trade. they are winter hardy in my area [10 deg.F] as they are, no mulching needed. a tough plant. warning though, please do not plant wormwood where u have edible plants, not a good idea at all. the plant itself makes a nice statement all to itself when planted alone for nice leaf effect.

ma vie, i have my wormwood planted in a bed with a bunch of different plants (flowering) but in this bed i do have tomato and herbs growing. how far should this plant be from the edibles or should i move the wormwood into another bed?

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

Nancy... move the wormwood away from the edibles. i read somewhere before that when the leaves of wormwood is sprash with water, it emit some kind of toxic chemicals.

when i shared the wormwood, i always gave warning not to plant them near edibles. it must have slip ur mind. please move the wormwood as soon as possible. do not worry, they are such sturdy plants it will recover instanteniously.

wormwood should always be planted alone by itself as it is a prolific grower. needs plenty of room all to themselves. when planted alone it creates a very dramatic effect on the area where they are planted. ants and other insects avoid wormwood.
