Too bad it's so lte in the season - but ai sure want to play!! Should we use the same "special" email addy to you??
no, just click on my name or use the one in your addy book:)
but i do not have any coleus tiG! :((
check this site to wet ur appetite for coleus ... http://www.rareplants.com/gallery2.html . enjoy !!! hope u got a variety on this url. *Giggles*
I saw this linnk from you on another thread and was just checking it out............the only trouble is that this place has terrible reviews.
Kelley ... i am not familiar with Glasshouse, as i have not bought from them yet. but they sure have great collection for identity purposes and color selection. no other reason, other than that.
Do we have to have the proper names? Should we try to match them on the web?
Oh my never thought of that - I have no idea what most of mine are called!
if you can match them, that's better. but they don't have to be named. golddog, try www.glassworks.com for some good pictures.
Hi, tiG!
Please sign me up. I just checked and have enough for the trade.
If anyone would send some dark-leaved coleus, I would appreciate it. If not, I take what you have and enjoy them, too.
Thanks!
Evelyn

Sun Coleus okay???
"eyes"
Just cut mine - have 12 varieties, didn't realize I had so many!! Glad to share.
Will give glassworks a go. Thanks!
yes, sun coleus are great!!!! golddog, are you in??
Put golddog in.
Okay - I'll get in. I had to check & make sure I have enough. Don't hook me up with Studley... most of mine came from him -LOL.
okay poppy, if I pull your name for him or viceversa, I'll stick it back in:)
I am in.
I am surprised more people aren't in on this. Is it because we need to have 6 rooted cuttings that is scaring people away?
i can not join Studley cause i only have two variety. the requirement is 6, it will be unfair to others. mine are the common variety. besides, i do not have a green house to store them for the winter... the reason why i did not join.
MaVieRose,
Maybe tiG could extend the date and you could root the ones you have??
I don't have a greenhouse either. I'm just doing to pot them all in one (big) pot by the window. It will cheer up my flowerless winter when snow is on the ground.
Mine are not unusual. I just bought a couple of six-packs at my local nursery. Oh, and one 4-incher that I have planted in my "Dark Side Garden". I will try to root these in time, otherwise, I MAY send the whole plants. IF I have time, I will try to ID them, otherwise, it's "potluck". They are ALL pretty, though.
evelyn, the thing is that MaVie only has two different varieties. I think more people aren't in on this swap because coleus are just catching back on with most people and next year will be different. There are so many out there nowdays that are just stunning.
OK.
thanks Evelyn, but i have a houseful of houseplants that i do not know where to place when winter comes around. not to mention the other plants that are winter sensitive too.
tiG is right, i have only two varieties at hand. didn't bother find their names. having hailed from the orient, i know the numerous varieties in existence, but due to limited space, am more considerate of the problems during the winter months, which is why i try to with hold on buying more.
thanks again... ma vie
I thought you were from France MaVie.......... I guess from your name......LOL!!
yeah right Kelley :)!!! i did not ask to be christened with my name. it was only later in life, here in the US i found the French meaning of my name.
to clear the air, i am originally from one the main island in the Philippines. i have lived in the US, for more than 30 some yrs.
I like your name Ma Vie, it sounds very pretty and it is so different. Does it mean My Life?
I bet you miss the plants in the Phillipines, isn't it all lush and tropical??
yes that is the meaning. i found the meaning when one former co-worker, a French man told me the meaning.
Definitely! i do miss all the exotic tropical plants we have back home. did u know we never wear perfume, instead were fresh flowers all the time either on our hair or as corsage or wear the flowers on our wrist like bracelet. if not as a lei. the only time we do wear perfume is during formal gatherings.
don't get me wrong, but i find it very amusing to see everyone getting excited over tropical plants i once used to ignore back home... only because they were too common, where i came from. but rare to those who sees them for the first time.
Isn't that always the way though Ma Vie? We don't appreciate what we have until we don't have it anymore, and we always want what we can't have......or should not have!!!
LOL
u're so funny Kelley :). u got mail.
you know Ma Vie, it makes me crazy(happy) when someone tells me that!!!
i do get silly too sometime. in fact, when i visit my son, i am always told to act my age or he'd tell me 'when will u ever act ur age mom?' his friends like my company cause their parents are too old fashioned or behind times. they fell very comportable with my silliness LOL!
sorry tiG didn't mean to hijacked ur thread.
LOL Ma Vie, I was talking about telling me that I have mail.......I used to see people write that but no one ever wrote that to me!! Now I lov eit when soemone says tha tot me.........
so how old is your boy?
I was excited when I got up this morning and saw all the new posts, I thought the swap doubled over night:)
MaVie, I'm one of the best hijackers there is myself! maybe we should leave this to the swap though:)
Tig, are the coleus suppose to be rooted by August 25?
cuttings usually make it fine in the mail. I started some when I started this thread and they are already rooted. do you need a bit more time?
