My red twig dogwoods are in need of trimming - they're trying to take over the nearby rock bed.
Can this shrub be started from cuttings? Should the cuttings be taken before or after the blooms. I would be glad to share some with anyone who wants to try starting some.
I also have some gooseberry bushes that I want to trim back. What's the info on this one?
I can always trim them up and toss the cuttings, but thought it would be a great way for someone to get some started without a big expense.

Mamakane, yes, you can propagate from softwood or hardwood cuttings of redosier dogwood, here's a link: http://www.freeplants.com/soft%20of%20decid.htm
I'd love some of your softwood cuttings just tell me where to send postage.
Thanks!
I sure would too Thanks
I took a look at the link go_vols listed. It looks like I should wait until June to take soft wood cuttings. Let me get back to you with a new posting in June, when I see what I'm up to and how the shrubs are doing.
Thanks so much for the advice.
