want to forcast weather - frost at 4200 ft

Battle Mountain, NV(Zone 4a)

The data base says "normal" date for last frost is Apr20.

How many times do you forcast it will frost after the "normal" date for last frost?

Misc. data: Day temperatures now mostly about 80°F. Night temperatures now mostly about 40°F. NO frost from Mar15 thru Apr15 then about 5 days of frost. Clear about 250-300 days a year. Partly cloudy about 60-65 days a year.

Joshua Tree, CA(Zone 8b)

JJjaques. It was nice chatting with you the other day. Now I live near a Nat'l Monument . So I get forcasts for it to get my own forcast. The elevation does make the difference. You are in Nevada, Desert? I beleive . Like here we usually get the Palm Springs report which is 20-30 degrees warmer. You will have to actually keep a journal. I have an indoor/outdoor thermometer. You sound simular to us . But the outside temp at this moment is 60 so we are warmer. Maybe a round about guess Zone 7 might be more accurate. So a desert Gardener you are? We have an Xeriscaping Forum here now , would be ideal for you. Good source of plants for your area and colder desert temps would be

Baker City, OR(Zone 5b)

Hi jjj, my weather isn't that great now either, northeast Oregon, 3300 ft, near mountains, frost the last few nights, cold and windy today. When I lived at Bend, Or. the official last "normal" frost was June 1, but it was also "normal" for us to have 5 frosts during the growing season before the first "normal" frost about Sept. 1. Crazy! Where I am now is a bit easier place to garden. Be sure to check out the xeriscaping forum here at davesgarden, we all can help each other. I will look for you in the chat room.
