Looking for name of old movie

A friend of mine asked me to ask you guys if anyone remembers the name of a comedy movie about 3 ghosts (husband and wife and the maid who is having an affair with the husband). They live at a summerhouse. He mentioned that they sink this guys boat every summer.
Its not "The Ghost and Mrs Muir" --already asked. I told him that you guys are great at these things!!! I mean-- you remembered the flying saucer candy!!!
Thanks

Janice was it Topper, with Cary Grant? And then later on there was a Series I cant remember the leading lady in it.
My other favorites are all The Thin Man movies w/Myrna Loy and William Powell. Kind of the same sophisticated comedy of its time. LOVE old movies!!!!

Middlesbrough, United Kingdom

Topper's fun. I like all these old movies as well. There's also Blithe Spirit, again with Rex Harrison I think and the really great Maggie Rutherford on her bicycle as the medium. Topper might just be the answer. The well-to-do people in this time-period all seem to have maids.

Thanks, I knew someone here would know!!! He said he would know the name if he heard it. He isnt home right now but will get back to you.
My friend, Kurt, thanks you also.
Janice

I talked to my friend and he said Topper is a different movie. He remembers Topper. The husband (ghost) was a sea captain and he had a wife and a mistress maid (all ghosts)
Will keep checking in.
Thanks

I believe the name of the movie is called "The spirit is willing" with Sid Ceasar and Vera Miles. Its a comedy about a couple who rent a summer house thats haunted by several spirits. I haven't seen the movie in 20 years, but I remember that there is a yaught that sinks in the harbor on a nightly basis, and I think the haunting centered around a love triangle between a husband, wife, and frisky maid. There is also an adolescent boy who gets caught up in the haunting. I think it was filmed up around mendocino on the CA coast.

Topper starred Cary Grant and Constance Bennette as rich bonvivants who if I remember correctly die in an automobile accident and come back to haunt a dear friend of theirs. It was also a comedy.

My favorite of all time is Ghost and Mrs. Muir with Gene Tierney, Rex Harrison, and a very young Natalie Wood.

There is also one with Ray Milland and Ruth Hussey, called
The Uninvited, which while not a comedy, is very good. Its about a brother and sister who buy an old home on the english coast thats haunted by the ghost of a young womans mother, played by Gail Russell, I think?

Hope this helps.
