Japanese Wasps

Dutton, AL(Zone 7a)

Does anybody have a problem with Japanese Wasps during summer. The past year these Japanese Wasps which happen to be the largest Wasps I've seen, could be hornets. They look like a yellow jacket on steriods. And these suckers mean business. I could not find a nest of any sort, but I did notice that they liked to eat bark off of a tree in my yard, I am not kidding they ate the bark right off the tree. Don't know the name of the tree, I'll find out. Well they also have a tendency to get in the house. My bedroom is in a build on room, which we use to store plants for the winter, and during the summer I had the windows up, and the Japanese Wasps would push the screen and slowly crawl through the space between the window and the screen. And just my luck, one decided to lay down and sleep beside me. Unknowly, I happen to row over on him and boy did he light me up, lefted a scare, sort of like a cigarette burn. Once bitten, I decided to declare war on these critters, and I probably killed over a hundred of them for the rest of the summer. Anyways, has anybody heard of these things, just like to know if anyone else is suffering from them.
