hi Dave

I was wondering how do you cope with all the posts & replies that are added everyday?
does every item get sent to your own pc too?
if I did anything nasty, as if I would, in a post/reply how long would it take you to find out?
do you just watch your site all day?
do you sleep? LOL

lastly how can the guy at GW keep an eye with soo much going on?

just being nosey!

It's a labour of love.

> does every item get sent to your own pc too?

Of course! I know everything that happens on DG - the second it happens. I have written lots
of programs (I call them my Servants) who monitor the site and notify me immediately whenever
anything happens.

I also have special triggers that alert me when potentially bad things happen (I write filters
that watch for bad things, and occasionally I add to them when the need arises).

Probably 30-45 seconds, but maybe longer (2-3 minutes, if I'm outside and have to walk outside when
my server calls my cell phone to alert me of a problem post.

On the other hand, if my servants missed the nasty post, then it would sit until I came to the computer
and read the post (which I would, since I read each and every single post on DG).

The final check is all the readers out there who kindly help me by alerting me to the baddies.

But, Mark, you wouldn't do anything nasty!! Why do you ask?

> do you just watch your site all day?

You bet! This is what I do. I also garden and spend time with my family.

> do you sleep? LOL

Not much. ;-)

Interesting post and answer - I was wondering the same thing, especially when Dave spoke about taking down his barn - how would he have time to do that and manage the website, too?

Thanks to you both.

Your mom-ma must be proud of you Dave. Bye, Lisa

She's on DG (username: GrannyLois). She was one of our first members. ;-)

I just used it as an example. I'm a good guy!
