Hello All,
We built a new home last Spring / Summer and moved into it in December.
While they were building we noticed lots of Ladybugs in every part of the house. We didn't think too much of it, but they must have hibernated behind the Drywall etc. We now have them in large quantities in the basement and Screened porch. We see a few in the house but not that many that it is a big problem.
Does anyone know how I can "gather" these without killing them and release them outside? I don't want to just vacumn them up.
(I have the same problem with Flies too, but them I'm going to let the shop vac lose on)

Ladybug Infestation ........ help
Wow Kathy I can see why you would be so concerned. I am moving into a new house end of May and I certainly don't want ladybugs crawling out of the woodwork. Don't get me wrong I love the little critters and the garden needs them but in the house - I think not. Are there so many that you can't gather them by hand? Like brush them into a container and release them outside! I'll be interested to see what other members might suggest here. Good luck!

Sharon,
Thanks for the link to the thread about the Ladybugs, it was helpful.
Louisa,I have tried to just brush them into or on a container, you get a few, but most fly away. It would take me forever to get rid of them that way.
I think I may go get a small hand vac to use just for the "little lovelies" and then empty them outside. (since others have said this won't kill them)
Kathy
lol Kathy - the hand-held vac......! Sounds OK to me, let us know how you get on :-)
How about using a leaves blower to blow them out?
Hi, i have had these love bugs show up the last three winters, they show up when it warms up after the first heat wave, last for a couple of months. i throw them out when i can.
