I know it's a little early, but you want to be taking cuttings and stuff anyway, and this will give you time to think about what to send. Mail out date will be 3rd week of August, exact date will wait until I get up and check a calendar:)
I'm going to match up zones (4-5, 6-7, 8-9 etc.) and then put names out of a hat from each zone area. Will try to keep areas close, because postage now goes on how far the package goes, but I'll check and see just how far the same 4.55 (or whatever) gets a package so that we don't get in a habit of only mailing to the same people.
In this thread, please post if tender perennials are okay with you. Some of us don't have a greenhouse, and an extra plant inside might make the floor fall out:) That way your trader will know if you only can take hardy stuff or not.
If you're new, what we do is I draw the names and send them out to you with the mail-by date and any other info you might need. There are no rules, just general guidelines, but try to be as generous as you can, think of a box you would love to open. If you think something might come up and you can't follow through, please wait until the last minute so you'll have a better idea. Last time we had to get some angels to fill in. If you haven't read it yet, please read the trading primer, it's a valuable tool that can help with this too. Take time in the next couple of weeks to update your wish list. If you have any questions, email me. Unfortunately, I think we should keep this to just the US. If people in Canada want one, they can start it or I can keep the info for you, whatever.
So, jump in, new or old and remember to post here if you can or can't take tender (not hardy) perennials/exotics. That way your trader knows where to come look.
HI, I'm tiG and I want in. I can take greenhouse perennials.

Hello, I'd like to be in, But, Must say, I'd have to have Hardy plants only, I have no greenhouse, And no room inside to take plants in.
No greenhouse here. Can only take Hardy perennials...

tiG - I'll get in on this one. I don't have much room to over winter tender plants but I might make an exception if it's not something that gets huge.

Me Too! Get no snow here so semi-hardy I guess. Have an area to put plants where the rain we have here in Oregon doesn't flood them out. When you know the mailing date, and if you don't get an email back from me with acknowledgment you'll have to count me out at that point as my sister will be needing my care until the end, and I don't know for sure how long I will be away from home. Leaving for 2 weeks starting July 25th. then again (if needed) end of August or first part of September.
Yes count me in. Would prefer hardy plants (shrubs).
Okay, I'm in too.......email forthwith.
"eyes"
I have been eyeing this post and debating wether I need more plants............
what the heck....count me in.
(I am trying to add plants that will attract hummingbirds)
will e-mail you directly Tig, thanks for organizing this!

Hi tiG, count me in, I still don't have very much to trade (just the ordinary, that probably everyone has). But will send all that I can! I can only take hardy perennials. No greenhouse here :(
tiG - - - - the date you're planning for mail out works for me, count me in! Plant zone is 7/8 (north Oregon coast).
Can't believe I almost missed this!! Count me in, I have a green house(though it's overflowing in the winter) and I'm sure I can fit one more in. Zone 7
count me in, too - I sent you an email just now :)
Hi, Tig, count me in, too. I do have a greenhouse, so I am in for whatever . Need to know more about all this. This is gonna be fun. I am zone 8.

I'm in... hardy only. I WISH I had a greenhouse! I have a few well loved tender perennials I need to send to a warmer climate, and of course a few hardy perennial that I can spare thanks to generous DG members who helped me out in spring when I was all but wiped out and friendly neighbors.

if you haven't mailed your info to secretswap@email.com, please do so:) clicking on my name sends it to my regular email and I'm afraid I'll lose one.
I wanta swap. Loved it when I did it last year. I'll send a note through the other email. Thanks, tiG.
Tig, in case you didn't get my email, take me off the list to do this. I just don't have anything that I think everybody doesn't already have, but I'll be thinking about this and will be ready next Spring!
Roz, are you sure??? I know I got some great things from you at the swap. think about it a day or so and let me know:)
