I am going to plant a couple of peach trees for the first time.
Need some suggestions as to planting instructions; should I fertilize them when I plant them if so what type of fertizizer?
How long does it take the dwarf trees to begin to bear fruit.
Thanks
Paul
Peach Trees
Try a slow release like Osmocote.Place a handful in the hole before you plant.Depending on the rootstock you may see some peaches next year, maybe a couple this year. They bear on new wood so read up on pruning for next spring.
Thanks Jake, I was beging to think there wern't any peach growers out there.

Hi, I have an Elberta Peach semidwarf. It will probably bear fruit next year. My best result for a good crop is a whole bag of composted manure , just as the flowers appear.
Now I didnt know they bear on new wood.Thankyou Jake. My peach tree is 5 years old I was wonderinig why the fruit was less.
