"Intrigue" is a beau-ti-ful canna! I would love to get some seeds, if they are still available. Do I just send a.s.a.e.?

Thanks so much :~)

I think I will have enough to send you some of the Intrigue Shirley.

Eyes, sorry it took me so long to answer. Wait to send mine, please, I really want my nieces to have the one I requested. I do know what it is like to wait for seeds to finish ripening! Seems to take forever.

Thank you so much. Kathy

Heads up everyone......the Canna seeds are going in the mail on Monday. If you aren't sure how to germinate the seeds, look up this thread about half way, and you will find the Hyperlink I put there. It is extremely important that you nick the seed good, and soak for 48-72 hrs. Good Luck, and Happy Diggin'!☻☻☻☺☺☺

eyes, just wanted to thank you again. Mine are coming up leaps and bounds. I'm going to have to pot them up, the tray isn't very deep and some are already an inch tall.
thanks so much and be ready when they bloom to id for me:)

"Eyes",

You won't believe this, but it's the truth!!! When your envelope with your Canna "Intrigue" seeds arrived in my mailbox, I was SO excited! However, I noticed immediately that it had been tampered with and/or mutilated. There was a hole at one corner of the envelope and the seal was taped. I opened the envelope carefully, but NO seeds were inside! What a bummer :~(

I greatly appreciate you taking your time to collect the seeds, making lots of varieties available to other gardeners, putting the correct postage on the envelopes, and sending them to all the DG participants that requested them. I was really disappointed to find that the contents were missing! I guess it just wasn't meant to be! Thanks for trying to send them to me, perhaps the next time.

Shirley, send me you addy again, and I'll send you some more, am getting more now. I will disguise them this time!! Of all the blatant nerve some people have!!

Oh, Shirley, I just saw this, I would also be so upset! Do you have trouble with other mail coming tampered with? Once in a great while something arrives here that has been previously opened, but nothing good was ever in it, only boring junk mail, or receipts for utility pre-payments.

Probably what happened was that a careless postal worker tried to put the envelope with the seeds in the automatic sorting machine, which promptly broke, meanwhile ripping open the envelope. Whoever was operating the equipment had the task of clearing it all out, and gave the mangled mail to someone else to repair.

I used to work a machine like that, but a bank check-sorter, not a mail-sorter, so I know the drill pretty well. Human error, I think it is called :)

Anyway, having the mail hand-sorted is why we pay the extra postage, so accidents like the above shouldn't happen. I would complain to the local post office, who should refund the postage, if nothing else.

Eyes,

Seeds up all over the pot. Must be good ones! Thanks

Thanks for your concern, Lupinelover. I guess living 1 hr. outside of Washington, D.C. may explain some of it, OR it could have been a torn envelope. Usually, torn or mutilated envelopes will arrive in a plastic bag with the U.S. Post office clearly stamped on it. That was NOT the way this envelope arrived! Therefore, I still conclude it was tampered with.

However, "eyes" has come through once again! She has graciously consented to send me more canna seeds (bless her heart). I was willing to trade for the seeds or send her "surprise" ones, but she wouldn't hear of it. I couldn't twist her arm! She is DEFINITELY, "one in a million" :~)

With sincere gratitude!

Shirley
