I've always wanted to grow this plant, but the closest i've got so far is photographing it on a recent visit to the Royal Horticultural Society's gardens at Wisley.
The scent was wonderful - filled the air, but not overpoweringly.
It's a native for a number of you i suppose, being carpentaria californica, but it's a real gem to me.
