My grandmother has a lovely honeysuckle vine, and I would like to try and get starts from it, but I don't know how. Can anybody help?
Thanks!
How do I propogate a honeysuckle vine?
i pull up a piece by the roots, keep watered good for a while, works fine.
Or layer it. Take a long stem and lay it on the ground. Make a small nick in the stem about 12 inches from the end and insert a toothpick into the cut. Bury the cut stem in the soil and place a stone or brick over it. In 12 months it should have rooted. Sever it from the parent plant and pot it up or plant in the garden. I think you can use hormone rooting powder on the cut, but I don't personally. Arlene's way is faster!!
You can also take a snip of the plant and dip the end in rooting hormone and plant in moist potting soil. I have started many this way.
