hi all

all of the email addresses I use (5) received an email from Johndoe.com last week asking me to visit a porn site.

I dont think it was anyone lifting addresses from here or GW as 2 of my addresses have never been used by me anywhere on the web.

It's too bad that you received this mail. Somebody is definitely perusing the gardening sites for their porn-spam.

The good news is that nobody will be harvesting any E-mail addresses from Dave's Garden, because your E-mail address is /always/ hidden from view.

Let's remember that they aren't necessarily gleaning email addresses themselves. They are buying lists of addresses, from either companies who specialize in them, or directly from some ISPs and forum managers.

There was a problem on DG that did involve direct pirating of addys. But that was an exception, and has been dealt with.

Hi Grits (again) No, I haven't heard of LouGarden forum. The only public forum I've ever visited and posted something was GW and the Christian group "Avalon" which has been closed for sometime, and that was only one posting.Bye, Lisa

The web site for the Louisiana Gardens forum is www.egroups.com. It is named Lougardens.

It was strange, after Lisa posted her good bye on the GW forum and everyone gave suggestions on how to report these things - all of a sudden I had no more porno mail. Makes me wonder . . .
