Dave I dont know if I am in the correct forum to ask this of you or our members. But I would like to know if there area enough members in Desert Conditions who would like their a forum on Xeriscape or Dry Land Gardening?
It is a whole other kind of gardening. Reverse rules, that break the usual ones most gardeners have to follow.I never raise a bed! I dig IN a bed.And plants are a whole other thing. You would be amazed what there is besides cactus,(not that I don't like cactus) There are some great plants, and very limited sources. Zone 9 and up of course, I am what is called a Zone 8 1/2 or 8B
here . Very low humidity, and 110 degree temps. It takes alot of knowledge and peserverence to keep things alive here. I have asked this before, But I was waiting for more members to join. I know , Bloomer, Lantana, Mary E, and by checking out our list we have alot more of desert gardeners. So lets see what our members say? Dave what do you think?
Xeriscaping Forum?
And yes here too! I am in zone 5 but with 10 inches of moisture a year, it is also a desert. A good source for desert type plants is High Country Gardens in New Mexico.
