I get Poison Ivy every year despite shots for it and being very careful. Spent a fortune on pills, salves, creams, and sprays.
Several years ago my daughter who's a chemist, told me to put toothpaste that contains baking soda, on it. When it gets itchy, instead of scratching, use a hairdryer and blow some warm-hot air on the area. The toothpaste keeps it from weeping and spreading, and the blow dryer provides instant relief without scratching which spreads it more.
Has worked wonders for me. Thought I'd share. Might help someone else.
Poison Ivy relief methods
Very good to know. My little grandson gets it all the time. I'll have to tell his mother about this. Thanks for sharing.
