question on cross pollination

okay so MG's cross pollinate. what else does? And I am guessing that any seeds i saved could turn out to be a different color?? I know this question is stupid but i am trying to learn :) the reason i ask this is i plant MG's all around my porch so they are within 2-50 feet of each other. thank's

About anything from the same family can cross pollinate. This goes for flowers and veggies. It's an educational experience just wading through all of the information.

I'm pretty much a veggie person and have learned that there are different methods of pollination and what matters for each type of plant.

Squash will cross pollinate like mad.Cukes too. As far as flowers go,I'm not informed very well on those. Maybe poppysue will stop in and help us out. I'm sure she knows.

I would highly recommend the book entitled, "Seed to Seed" by Suzanne Ashworth. It is a great reference tool for understanding the details of maintaining the genetic purity of different plants. The focus is on vegetables.

A book called "Seed Sowing and Saving" by Carole Turner covers some veggies, as well as flowers and herbs.
