How old is the plant? I have a friend that planted a bb bush (actually it looked like a twig)last year. I'd like to let her know how long she will have to wait.
Thanx!

I think this is it's 3rd year here and it was probaly 2 years old when I bought it...so maybe it's 5 years old. It had berries ever since I bought...but of course the bigger it is the more berries you get.

I love my blueberries! I'm in TN, zone 6. I set out three plants that were about a foot tall two years ago. They had quite a few berries on them last year. This year, in spring, they are nearly 3 feet tall and FULL of buds. I can't wait! I have a different variety which is one year old. It has lots of buds on it, too, so it looks like I will have enough for some preserves this year. All I've done is fertilize them a bit, twice a year, and prune them at the end of the season.

I've only got 1 that has nice berries. The other 2 are different types and are slower to mature and smaller. I'm thinking about getting rid of them and replacing them with an earlier variety that also gets bigger like the good one I have. Better picture of it...

I was delighted this year to find that Lowes has a great variety and supply of blueberry bushes. They look quite healthy. I think they are the highbush variety but I can't be sure.
There are many varieties of blueberry bushes, and some are more tolerant of cold and soil types than others. Consider where you live and your soil quality before choosing a bush.

Not sure of the name :( I don't have the plant tag anymore that came with it.
