Tulip Tree Help!!!

Anyone know if I can start a tulip tree from a branch of the tree? Someone cut one down and if I can i would like to start one.............Any help would be greatly appreciated......Thanks!

Found out today this was a Magnolia! Gonna attempt to root it..what have i got to lose.... it was free;) after all! LOL

Its a Popular tree and it only grows from seeds. Look at the propagation section. I've posted a message that it more in depth.
