A friend offered his yard full of acorns with me. Some of them were trying very hard to root already. Has anyone had any success with this? Thanks!! "T" :)
Acorns/Oak Tree
sledder, i havent tried rooting them, but i have probably 50 seedlings started out there.
last year i decided to let 1 grow and the tree is now about 2 feet tall.
im thinking about potting them all up so they can grow bigger and then do something with them, wether i trade or take to the flea market.
seems such a waste to just mow them down.
I put them in a potting tray with potting soil. I hope out of the 30 or so planted that at least 5 grow. I'd be satisfied with that. And I agree...mowing seems like such a waste. I would be happy to root some up and plant them in a forest somewhere for wildlife. "T" :)
My little tree that I started in '98' from seed is 3-4 feet tall and doing real good. I think it has more leaves on it than trunk. Go for it girl!
