Please read if you have been sent to Disney

I have a suggestion for everybody sent to Disney.com.
I wrote a VERY polite e-mail to the folks at Disney telling them about how we all talk about
Disney in a negative matter as a result of The GardenWeb and spike sending people to
Disney. I said things like "people says thing like I don't want to go to Disney" or "I'm afraid
I'll get sent to Disney". I pointed out that it made folks look negatively on Disney. I wished
them luck on correcting the situation with the gardenweb.

If spike has given you a raw deal then may I ask/suggest you do what I did and tell others to
do the same. It only takes a minute. If Disney hears from a few of us the Disney thing will
stop. Yeah I know he'll just do something different BUT it will show that we do have a bit of
power and that might make him realize that he shouldn't treat people the way he does.

Thanks for sharing your idea and this is what I posted to Disney.com:

There is a gardening site on the internest called "Garden Web" where if you do something the host, Spike Hernandez, "doesn't like," then your browser is immediately redirected to Disney.com.

My experience is that I was trying to trade for some seeds and I put in the URL for my trade list, which is at another site and which I have done a number of times in the past, my browser was re-directed to Disney.com. I tried this several times and the same thing happened. Once I took out the URL for my trade list to this other garden site, I was able to successfully complete my post.

I think this is very unfair of the Garden Wed site to re-direct like that, especially when one is pressed for time. I love Disney, but I only want to visit it when I want to visit it.

Sari, I just wanted you to know your thread has crossed over to another web site! Many folks who visit that site were sent to Disney and they will be happy to have that info. I am sure Disney will have a box full of email!! It will be interesting to see....

Update. I just received an e-mail from Disney thanking me and telling me their legal department was looking into it.
Don't let this stop you from sending an e-mail to Disney. I hope this will encourage you to drop Disney an e-mail.

I sent a letter to them as soon as I read this. It was posted in another site where people visit that used to wear mouse ears. Thanks to Sari for starting this thread.

I'm an amateur gardener and a Garden Web/That Home Site lurker. I haven't been sent to Disney in eons, but only because I left a year ago with a big group from the Kitchen Table who earned their mouse ears and I have posted maybe twice since. Anyway, I support what you're doing and I have sent an email to Disney also. I encourage others to do the same.

This is what I posted to Disney:
Hi I know you are aware that a great many people are being sent to Disney.com when they supposedly do something wrong on the Garden Web.
I am another of the growing list of people who get sent to Disney when I try to post anything on the Garden Web site. Is it not illegial to use some one elses site as a "Goal?".
Perhaps your legal department should look into this matter. Helen in Canada
